VIENNA, Va. — Sen. Barack Obama told national Democrats yesterday that if they choose him as their presidential nominee, they can avoid "refighting" the political battles of the 1990s.
The Illinois Democrat"s remarks were intended to suggest that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is too polarizing to win in 2008.
This is not a bad strategy coming from the Obama camp.
Painting Hillary and President Clinton as yesterday's news.
Electing Hillary would set the country back by at least 10 years.
The person winning the Republican nomination would do good to remember this strategy.
