The people of Venezuela decided they did not want a dictator for life.
Chavez' proposal to give himself the ultimate power for life, was barely defeated yesterday.
Humbled by his first electoral defeat ever, President Hugo Chavez said Monday he may have been too ambitious in asking voters to let him stand indefinitely for re-election and endorse a huge leap to a socialist state.
It took an immense amount of courage for the people of Venezuela to stand up to Chavez and many today may be worried about the heavy consequences they may face from Chavez.
Let's hope that Chavez will quietly leave office in 2012 when he is supposed to.
