Democrat stimulus: 200 days since passage, 200 promises, 200 Failures

200 days ago, the $787 Billion stimulus was signed into law by President Obama.

President Obama and his liberal minions promised us jobs, strong economic development, leaping unicorns, joy and happiness would abound in our new American utopia.

So far, a complete bust.

The RNC has put together list: 200 Days, 200 Claims

For example, do you remember this promise?

The stimulus would create 3.5 million jobs and starting do so immediately; Instead, over 2.2 million Americans have lost their jobs since the stimulus bill was signed into law.

So far, not only has the stimulus not created any jobs, we continue to lose them month after month. Predictions for the month of August is that we have lost more jobs and that unemployment will go up again.

In order to make Obama's statement true by the end of 2010, we have to turn immediately to job creation and make up the 2.2 Million immediately, but also need to add another 3.5 million jobs. Total, President Obama needs to now create almost 6 million jobs by the end of 2010, and that is if we do not lose any more between now and then. This is a tall order for any economy, much less an economy that is still losing jobs.

Exploiting Kennedy's funeral

You know, I think I have been very polite as the family and friends of Senator Kennedy mourned their loss. They have every right for me to respectful and let them have their last moments with one of their leaders.

However, using a Kennedy child to ram ObamaCare down our throats was a bit over the top. At a funeral mass of all places. Don't you think?

H/T Gateway Pundit

Democrats you should be ashamed of yourselves. This was pure political exploitation of a child no less. What lowlife thought this was appropriate at a funeral mass?

Remarks by Sarah Palin

Remember this night? One year ago today(August 29, 2008, Governor Sarah Palin was nominated to the GOP ticket by Senator John McCain.

If you watch this again, everything she said an Obama administration would bring us has taken place, only 8 months after he took office.

Leaving in a few minutes to go to a debate between Gwen Moore and Paul Ryan on healthcare. Should be interesting. This debate will be between a woman who has said she read the table of content in HOUR 3200 and a man who has actually read the bill.

Confirmed: Nancy Pelosi lied

I guess stranger things have happened. With the newly released documents from the CIA files about interrogations, it appears that the Attorney General has snagged one of his own again.

Nancy Pelosi was indeed briefed about the CIA's interrogation techniques and she did not raise an objection.

WSJ

Congress also knew about it. The IG report belies House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's claims that she wasn't told about all this. "In the fall of 2002, the Agency briefed the leadership of the Congressional Intelligence Oversight Committees on the use of both standard techniques and EITs. . . . Representatives . . . continued to brief the leadership of the Intelligence Oversight Committees on the use of EITs and detentions in February and March 2003. The [CIA] General Counsel says that none of the participants expressed any concern about the techniques or the Program . . ." Ditto in September 2003.

So I guess we can once again assume that since the CIA interrogators are being threated with criminal proceedings by our Attorney General, that the AG will do the honest thing and go after the House and Senate leadership that knew about this and did nothing to stop the so-called illegal acts.

Hopefully, Nancy Pelosi is not water boarded by our AG into finally telling the truth. Imagine that scandal!

Perhaps the AG will finally figure out that if he goes after the CIA that he will snag some of the highest leadership seats in the Democrat Party on his witch hunt.

This happened just a few months ago, when the AG attempted to go after CIA interrogators, President Bush and VP Cheney. Being the gentleman he is(sarc), President Obama put a stop to it. After all, Obama had to save his buddy Nancy Pelosi from her own lies. Looks like he may have to step in again and save her.

Remember the Stimulus

With all of the talk about health care, the stimulus spending issue has gone unchecked. Well, Obama's buddies are getting paid.

Check this out:

WASHINGTON – A sleepy Montana checkpoint along the Canadian border that sees about three travelers a day will get $15 million under President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan. A government priority list ranked the project as marginal, but two powerful Democratic senators persuaded the administration to make it happen.

Despite Obama's promises that the stimulus plan would be transparent and free of politics, the government is handing out $720 million for border upgrades under a process that is both secretive and susceptible to political influence. This allowed low-priority projects such as the checkpoint in Whitetail, Mont., to skip ahead of more pressing concerns, according to documents revealed to The Associated Press.

Of course, the places on the border that desperately need help, they get nothing:

A checkpoint in Laredo, Texas, which serves more than 55,000 travelers and 4,200 trucks a day, is rated among the government's highest priorities but was passed over for stimulus money.

I guess that lovely red state does not rate in Obama's administration.

But, but, but....VP Joe Biden promised he was watching this stuff. Speaking of the VP, anybody seen him lately? I guess the fact that he says something stupid every time he is let out of his office, means that he will trapped in his office for a while.

Weird

I am sitting at my computer reading one of the startling articles I have read in a while, Betsy McCaughey in the Wall Street Journal. I am also streaming Vicki McKenna's radio show on WISN. As I am reading this article, Vicki mentions it on the air and begins to read it.

Dr. Ezekial Emanuel is leading President Obama's charge on health care reform. This guy actual believes that doctors care to much about their Hippocratic oath.

True reform, he argues, must include redefining doctors' ethical obligations. In the June 18, 2008, issue of JAMA, Dr. Emanuel blames the Hippocratic Oath for the "overuse" of medical care: "Medical school education and post graduate education emphasize thoroughness," he writes. "This culture is further reinforced by a unique understanding of professional obligations, specifically the Hippocratic Oath's admonition to 'use my power to help the sick to the best of my ability and judgment' as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of cost or effect on others."
In numerous writings, Dr. Emanuel chastises physicians for thinking only about their own patient's needs. He describes it as an intractable problem: "Patients were to receive whatever services they needed, regardless of its cost. Reasoning based on cost has been strenuously resisted; it violated the Hippocratic Oath, was associated with rationing, and derided as putting a price on life. . . . Indeed, many physicians were willing to lie to get patients what they needed from insurance companies that were trying to hold down costs." (JAMA, May 16, 2007).

This guy is a doctor. The main stream media is hiding from this guy, knowing that if they tell the truth about him, ObamaCare is dead.

The smartest administration ever...

So, according to those in the "know", this is the smartest administration in American history.

Remember, Obama had chosen the smartest, best and brightest to lead this country at a record pace, now we find out this week that over half his team is still not in place.

Oh and those calculations for unemployment not going over 8% if we slammed the stimulus package through were way off. Bush's economy was worse than they thought or so Obama says.

How about those $7.1 trillion deficit predictions coming out of the White House, in spite of every other economic guru was predicting way higher? Oopsie, the White House projects a $9 trillion deficit now. Hey, Obama's brilliant White House was only off by 28%. It is only money we don't have.

Once again, Bush's economy was far worse than they realized, in spite of spending more money than other President or Congress in American history.

Drunken sailors and Paris Hilton's girlfriends got nothing on this President. Our President Obama, can spend money faster than they can.

You got to love the accusation that the 'completely out of power, don't have enough votes to change anything' Republicans, are killing his signature legislation in health care. It is a vast right wing conspiracy, you see.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I cannot wait until Obama's brilliance kicks in. This game of "it is all Bush's fault" has gotten real old.

The babies born in hospital corridors: Bed shortage forces 4,000 mothers to give birth in lifts, offices and hospital toilets

Thousands of women are having to give birth outside maternity wards because of a lack of midwives and hospital beds.

The lives of mothers and babies are being put at risk as births in locations ranging from lifts to toilets - even a caravan - went up 15 per cent last year to almost 4,000.

Health chiefs admit a lack of maternity beds is partly to blame for the crisis, with hundreds of women in labour being turned away from hospitals because they are full.

Latest figures show that over the past two years there were at least:

* 63 births in ambulances and 608 in transit to hospitals;
* 117 births in A&E departments, four in minor injury units and two in medical assessment areas;
* 115 births on other hospital wards and 36 in other unspecified areas including corridors;
* 399 in parts of maternity units other than labour beds, including postnatal and antenatal wards and reception areas.

Additionally, overstretched maternity units shut their doors to any more women in labour on 553 occasions last year.

Babies were born in offices, lifts, toilets and a caravan, according to the Freedom of Information data for 2007 and 2008 from 117 out of 147 trusts which provide maternity services.

One woman gave birth in a lift while being transferred to a labour ward from A&E while another gave birth in a corridor, said East Cheshire NHS Trust.

Others said women had to give birth on the wards - rather than in their own maternity room - because the delivery suites were full.

More incompetence with stimulus funds

Oh good grief.

This is our taxpayer dollars, isn't it? Actually, it is China's money, but our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be stuck paying for our government's incompetence.

Why am I not surprised?

The federal government mistakenly sent out stimulus checks to 1,700 inmates, the Social Security Administration said Tuesday -- a $425,000 error.

Social Security spokesman Dan Moraski told FOXNews.com in a written statement that the money went out because official records "did not accurately reflect that they were in prison."

The inspector general's office for the Social Security Administration is now looking into the problem as part of its broader audit on stimulus spending. The Social Security Administration acknowledged the glitch following a report that nearly two-dozen inmates in Massachusetts had wrongly received the $250 stimulus checks.

RIP, Senator Ted Kennedy

And England has Better Healthcare than the U.S.?

Man collapses with ruptured appendix... three weeks after NHS doctors 'took it out'

After weeks of excruciating pain, Mark Wattson was understandably relieved to have his appendix taken out.

Doctors told him the operation was a success and he was sent home.

But only a month later the 35-year-old collapsed in agony and had to be taken back to Great Western Hospital in Swindon by ambulance.
To his shock, surgeons from the same team told him that not only was his appendix still inside him, but it had ruptured - a potentially fatal complication.

In a second operation it was finally removed, leaving Mr Wattson fearing another organ might have been taken out during the first procedure.

The blunder has left Mr Wattson jobless, as bosses at the shop where he worked did not believe his story and sacked him.

Mr Wattson told of the moment he realised there had been a serious mistake.

'I was lying on a stretcher in terrible pain and a doctor came up to me and said that my appendix had burst,' he said.

'I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told these people I had my appendix out just four weeks earlier but there it was on the scanner screen for all to see.

'I thought, "What the hell did they slice me open for in the first place?"

Townhall update

Sorry guys- my internet connection shut down on my phone part of the way through the Kenosha townhall with Congressman Ryan.

I will try and remember as much as I can and post later.

I do not know who most of these folks were that were asking questions, but I loved it.

Crowd about 4 to 1 against ObamaCare.

For an update, see this blogger, he live blogged the event.

Power to the people, folks in Kenosha rose up and let the Congressman know that they do not support government run healthcare.

I did manage to twitter for a little while, but I lost that connection also.
Okay. About 300 people here. The Congressman entered to a standing ovation. Majority are against Obamacare. Currently there is a powerpopint presentation.

Yep- the Democrats are lining up to crash Congressman Paul Ryan's townhalls

The Democrats in Wisconsin, Organizing for America and some other group are attempting to get their supporters to crash Congressman Paul Ryan's townhall meetings.

I know that Vicki McKenna spoke on their efforts of the Democrats on her show this morning, and RedState has an article up on it.

Here is the lovely email sent out by Kelly Gallaher of Obama's Organizing for America.

I am receiving Twitter updates from a couple of folks at the today's townhalls.

First, Casey Himebauch says of the first townhall that OFA officials are calling the townhall a "pep rally for Paul Ryan".

According to GopGal, she is calling OFA's efforts an Epic Fail.

Casey and GopGal are also at the second townhall in North Prairie.

GopGal reports: Listening session @reppaulryan Do you want your medical decisions in the hands of unelected bureaucrats? CROWD: No!!!!!!!

Casey reports:
North Prairie @reppaulryan Town Hall a constituent asks if people in Washington own a calculator-

So far, Congressman Ryan was a hit at the first two of his townhall meetings. Even though both the Democrats and Organizing for America made a concerted effort to crash these and us them to bash Congressman Ryan, it did not work.

However, the real tests will be tomorrow in Kenosha and on Thursday in Racine.

On August 27th, Congressman Ryan is going to have one townhall in Racine, WI, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Ms. Gallaher writes, “For the Racine session, which runs until 2:30, we have reserved the room until 5pm, so the session can continue with or without Paul Ryan. (That is a bit of secret, so don’t tell Paul Ryan!)

Final results from Kenosha GOP Straw Poll

Here are the final results of the Kenosha County GOP Fair Booth Straw Poll. Although, not scientific, I think it pretty accurately shows the direction Kenosha County conservatives are leaning.

2010 Republican Gubernatorial Primary

Scott Walker 74.5%
Mark Neumann 24.5%

All others, less than 1% (2 votes for Tommy Thompson, 1 Vote for Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth, 1 Vote for Bill Ingram)

2012 Republican Presidential Primary

Sarah Palin 52%
Mike Huckabee 18%
Mitt Romney 16%
Newt Gingrich 12%

All others, less than 1% total (3 votes for Congressman Paul Ryan, 2 votes for President Barack Obama, 2 votes for Ron Paul, 2 votes for Mark Neumann, 1 vote for Bob Barker, 1 Vote for Talk show host James T. Harris...no I am not kidding on this last one)

I will get into some of the comments I heard this past week from lots of conservatives in Kenosha County in a later post. This past week was great fun and uplifting.

A Note from Sarah Palin

From Sarah Palin's Facebook Page:

No Health Care Reform Without Legal Reform

President Obama's health care "reform" plan has met with significant criticism across the country. Many Americans want change and reform in our current health care system. We recognize that while we have the greatest medical care in the world, there are major problems that we must face, especially in terms of reining in costs and allowing care to be affordable for all. However, as we have seen, current plans being pushed by the Democratic leadership represent change that may not be what we had in mind -- change which poses serious ethical concerns over the government having control over our families’ health care decisions. In addition, the current plans greatly increase costs of health care, while doing lip service toward controlling costs.

We need to address a REAL bipartisan reform proposition that will have REAL impacts on costs and quality of patient care.

As Governor of Alaska, I learned a little bit about being a target for frivolous suits and complaints (Please, do I really need to footnote that?). I went my whole life without needing a lawyer on speed-dial, but all that changes when you become a target for opportunists and people with no scruples. Our nation’s health care providers have been the targets of similar opportunists for years, and they too have found themselves subjected to false, frivolous, and baseless claims. To quote a former president, “I feel your pain.”

So what can we do? First, we cannot have health care reform without tort reform. The two are intertwined. For example, one supposed justification for socialized medicine is the high cost of health care. As Dr. Scott Gottlieb recently noted, “If Mr. Obama is serious about lowering costs, he'll need to reform the economic structures in medicine—especially programs like Medicare.” [1] Two examples of these “economic structures” are high malpractice insurance premiums foisted on physicians (and ultimately passed on to consumers as “high health care costs”) and the billions wasted on defensive medicine.

Dr. Stuart Weinstein, with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, recently explained the problem:

”The medical liability crisis has had many unintended consequences, most notably a decrease in access to care in a growing number of states and an increase in healthcare costs. Access is affected as physicians move their practices to states with lower liability rates and change their practice patterns to reduce or eliminate high-risk services. When one considers that half of all neurosurgeons—as well as one third of all orthopedic surgeons, one third of all emergency physicians, and one third of all trauma surgeons—are sued each year, is it any wonder that 70 percent of emergency departments are at risk because they lack available on-call specialist coverage?” [2]

Dr. Weinstein makes good points, points completely ignored by President Obama. Dr. Weinstein details the costs that our out-of-control tort system are causing the health care industry and notes research that “found that liability reforms could reduce defensive medicine practices, leading to a 5 percent to 9 percent reduction in medical expenditures without any effect on mortality or medical complications.” Dr. Weinstein writes:

“If the Kessler and McClellan estimates were applied to total U.S. healthcare spending in 2005, the defensive medicine costs would total between $100 billion and $178 billion per year. Add to this the cost of defending malpractice cases, paying compensation, and covering additional administrative costs (a total of $29.4 billion). Thus, the average American family pays an additional $1,700 to $2,000 per year in healthcare costs simply to cover the costs of defensive medicine.
Excessive litigation and waste in the nation’s current tort system imposes an estimated yearly tort tax of $9,827 for a family of four and increases healthcare spending in the United States by $124 billion. How does this translate to individuals? The average obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) delivers 100 babies per year. If that OB-GYN must pay a medical liability premium of $200,000 each year (which is the rate in Florida), $2,000 of the delivery cost for each baby goes to pay the cost of the medical liability premium.” [3]

You would think that any effort to reform our health care system would include tort reform, especially if the stated purpose for Obama’s plan to nationalize our health care industry is the current high costs.

So I have new questions for the president: Why no legal reform? Why continue to encourage defensive medicine that wastes billions of dollars and does nothing for the patients? Do you want health care reform to benefit trial attorneys or patients?

Many states, including my own state of Alaska, have enacted caps on lawsuit awards against health care providers. Texas enacted caps and found that one county’s medical malpractice claims dropped 41 percent, and another study found a “55 percent decline” after reform measures were passed. [4] That’s one step in health care reform. Limiting lawyer contingency fees, as is done under the Federal Tort Claims Act, is another step. The State of Alaska pioneered the “loser pays” rule in the United States, which deters frivolous civil law suits by making the loser partially pay the winner’s legal bills. Preventing quack doctors from giving “expert” testimony in court against real doctors is another reform.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry noted that, after his state enacted tort reform measures, the number of doctors applying to practice medicine in Texas “skyrocketed by 57 percent” and that the tort reforms “brought critical specialties to underserved areas.” These are real reforms that actually improve access to health care. [5]

Dr. Weinstein’s research shows that around $200 billion per year could be saved with legal reform. That’s real savings. That’s money that could be used to build roads, schools, or hospitals.
If you want to save health care, let’s listen to our doctors. There should be no health care reform without legal reform. There can be no true health care reform without legal reform.

Obama's approval at 45%

The Zogby poll is not out yet, but they have hinted that Obama is in trouble with an approval rating at 45%.

The charge by liberals has been that just because Rasmussen shows the President below 50%, the polls were not accurate because Rasmussen was a right wing poll.

Okay, fine then.

The leftist pollster is Zogby.

Now Zogby shows the President at 45%.

What now, lefties?

Don't give me the garbage that every other President in recent history polls numbers have plunged this far in the first 8 months of their presidency, because that is a bald faced lie.

The President was elected by 53% of Americans, these polls are now showing that it is not just the right wing that does not support Obama, but people who voted for Obama are not supporting him now.

So what excuses are you going to use now, lefties?

Calling Sarah Palin

Remember those "death panels" that Obama and his liberal loving media attempting to destroy Sarah Palin with???

Well, when talking to religious leaders on Wednesday, Obama stated: "We are God's partners in matters of life and death."

"We are God's partners in matters of life and death," Obama said, according to Moline (paging Sarah Palin...), quoting from the Rosh Hashanah prayer that says that in the holiday period, it is decided "who shall live and who shall die."

That should calm the fears of all that "death panel" talk.

Hey, Sarah...you are right.

Obama does believe that he has a right to join with God and make decisions over people's life and death.

But,but,but...there are no death panels, right, Mr. President?

Our twelve year old President

Obama talking to his campaign "Organizing for America".

Apparently our President thinks that talking like a 12 year old will get his government controlled health care plan through to the American people:

Don't Get Sick After June

I wondered when the media would finally come out and state it

I wondered when someone in the main stream media was finally come out and say it, President Obama cannot even keep his own themes together when talking about health care reform.

As the Wall Street Journal points out today, we are constantly hearing how bad our health care is in America, the system is broke, yada, yada, yada. Then in the next breath, Obama states...if you like your health care, you can keep it. The President is constantly a contradicting himself and he wonders why Americans are losing faith in him.

Read the WSJ:

He likes to start off explaining our catastrophe of a health system. "What is truly scary—what is truly risky—is if we do nothing," he said in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We can't "keep the system the way it is right now," he continued, while his critics are "people who want to keep things the way they are."

However, his supporters also want to keep things the way they are. "I keep on saying this but somehow folks aren't listening," Mr. Obama proclaimed in Grand Junction, Colorado. "If you like your health-care plan, you keep your health-care plan. Nobody is going to force you to leave your health-care plan. If you like your doctor, you keep seeing your doctor. I don't want government bureaucrats meddling in your health care."

ACORN worker spilling the beans

H/T Michelle Malkin

Well, it is about time. Finally some ACORN workers are exposing the massive voter fraud that took place on behalf of Obama's presidential campaign. Now some of those workers are starting to spill the beans:

In his plea agreement, however, Edwards said that from Aug. 1 to Oct. 31, 2008, he unlawfully conspired with ACORN and Busefink to create a local bonus incentive program, known as “Blackjack,” giving ACORN canvassers an additional $5 for turning in 21 or more registration cards per shift. ACORN allegedly required its workers to submit at least 20 voter registration forms a day to keep their jobs.

It is illegal in Nevada to attach incentives to gathering registration forms because it encourages canvassers to submit fraudulent forms.

When the indictments were announced in May, Cortez Masto said that by structuring the compensation around a quota system, “ACORN facilitated voter registration fraud in the state.”

On another not so happy note, the taxpayers, spend millions of dollars each year paying ACORN. ACORN even got stimulus money. President Obama is paying these guys with out tax dollars so they can defraud and steal elections. Fun, huh?

Obama administration: The most ethical government ever, NOT!

Remember this?

With a 45-minute address, Obama declares: "At defining moments like this one, the change we need doesn't come from Washington. Change comes to Washington. Change happens because the American people demand it - because they rise up and insist on new ideas and new leadership, a new politics for a new time.

"America, this is one of those moments.''

How can we forget?

Then candidate Obama promised that change would come to Washington from the people.

Well, it appears the only thing that has changed in Washington is the nameplate at the Oval Office.

President Obama is paying off his campaign cohorts:

President Barack Obama's push for a national health care overhaul is providing a financial windfall in the election offseason to Democratic consulting firms that are closely connected to the president and two top advisers.

Coalitions of interest groups running at least $24 million in pro-overhaul ads hired GMMB, which worked for Obama's 2008 campaign and whose partners include a top Obama campaign strategist. They also hired AKPD Message and Media, which was founded by David Axelrod, a top adviser to Obama's campaign and now to the White House. AKPD did work for Obama's campaign, and Axelrod's son Michael and Obama's campaign manager David Plouffe work there.

The firms were hired by Americans for Stable Quality Care and its predecessor, Healthy Economy Now. Each was formed by a coalition of interests with big stakes in health care policy, including the drug maker lobby PhRMA, the American Medical Association, the Service Employees International Union and Families USA, which calls itself "The Voice for Health Care Consumers."

Their ads press for changes in health care policy. Healthy Economy Now made one of the same arguments that Obama does: that health care costs are delaying the country's economic recovery and that changes are needed if the economy is to rebound.

There is no evidence that Axelrod directly profited from the group's ads. Axelrod took steps to separate himself from AKPD when he joined Obama's White House. AKPD owes him $2 million from his stock sale and will make preset payments over four years, starting with $350,000 on Dec. 31, according to Axelrod's personal financial disclosure report.

Continued...

Looks like President Obama played some of you guys for fools.

How is that Hopey-Changey thing working out for you now?

Senator Feingold- you are joking, right?

A couple of weeks ago, I emailed Senator Feingold's office requesting a townhall somewhere in southeast Wisconsin. There is nothing wrong with Feingold hosting townhalls in northern and western Wisconsin, but in order to allow all of Wisconsin to weigh in on the health care issue, it seems only right that Feingold visit the southeast corner at least once, since a majority of the state lives here.

This is the response I got from Feingold's office:

Dear Ms. Carpenter,

Thank you for contacting me regarding your desire to attend one of my listening session to discuss health care reform. To get the most up to date and accurate schedule of my listening session please visit my website at http://feingold.senate.gov/listening/index.html.

I look forward to seeing you at one of those listening session and to hear your thoughts on health care reform. It is far past time for Congress to ensure all Americans have guaranteed, affordable, high-quality health care. Too many Americans are forced to make basic decisions regarding their health based on cost rather than on medical reasons; too many delay seeking treatment and do not receive preventive care, which results in more costly, or even fatal, consequences down the line. Our country spends $5,670 per capita annually on health care - which is twice as much as any other industrialized nation - and 15.6 percent of our gross domestic product. Despite this spending, we are not healthier than those other countries, and we still have more than 46 million Americans - including eight million children - who do not have health insurance, and countless others who are underinsured.

As you know, these high and rising costs take a tremendous toll on American families and businesses. While inflation grew 9.7 percent, and wage growth was 12.3 percent, premiums for family insurance coverage rose 59 percent from 2000-2004 and show no sign of stabilizing. As a result, many employers are shifting much of their health care costs to employees, no longer providing health benefits, or eliminating positions.

Reforming our health care system is also an economic imperative. Americans spend an unsustainable $2.2 trillion on health care each year. From ensuring the solvency of our entitlement programs to helping households across the country balance their checkbooks, reforming health care is necessary to getting health spending under control. Health reform will likely require significant initial investments, but, if done right, it can also yield significant savings in the near future. These initial investments can be at least partially offset by addressing current overpayments, waste, and fraud in the system, and ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent in the most effective and efficient manner. For example, by adopting the Wisconsin model for health care delivery, taxpayers will save billions of dollars.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I look forward to seeing you at a listening session in the future.

Okey dokey- still no townhall in southeast Wisconsin.

What are you afraid of, Senator?

Are you afraid of the senior citizens that might show up and demand to know why you are cutting their Medicare by $500 billion? Are you afraid of the average citizen asking why it is you will be rationing their health care? Are you afraid of the children that may show up and ask why it is you are spending trillions of dollars into their future?

This Democrat will be looking for a new job next year

Guy lives in a Republican district, and is a hard core liberal. My guess is he never expected someone from the Washington Times to videotape his conversation with the hard core liberals

Quote: I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district if I actually think what I am doing is going to be helpful.

Quote: I will vote against their opinion if I actually believe it will help them.

Bummer, I cannot turn myself in anymore

Now I am disappointed. I can no longer turn myself in for being non-supportive of President Obama health care power grab.

Apparently the email address to snitch on your neighbors, as was the White House's original plan, has been shut down. You can no longer turn your neighbor's into flag@whitehouse.gov .

Sigh. I was having so much fun turning myself in. Hum? Wonder why they gave up?

Yes, Congressional Plan will tax the little people

I know the President and his liberal cohorts continue to say that their will be no tax increases in his plan will be made against anyone making less that $250,000 a couple or $180,000 an individual.

The bill HR 3200 will indeed tax any single individual that does not have a qualifying insurance plan from their employer. HR 3200 includes a provision to change the IRS tax codes forcing every single American to enroll in the government plan and then be charged for the enrollment. You will be mandated to enroll and the IRS will charge you a 2.5% tax increase.

But, but, but...the President and the Congress promised no tax increase, right?

Amazing things happen when you actually read the bill.

Health Care Coverage
‘‘Sec. 59B. Tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage.
‘‘SEC. 59B. TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE
HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
‘‘(a) TAX IMPOSED.—In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5 percent of the excess of—
‘‘(1) the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross in2
come for the taxable year, over

‘‘(2) the amount of gross income specified in
section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.

Page 167,168 HR3200

This is a tax increase on every single individual in America!

This means that an average American making $42,000 a year will pay an extra $20.19 a week in taxes, adding up to about $1050 a year in extra taxes.

This includes every single American whether low income, medium income or upper income.

The President's health care plan means that you are mandated to carry health care coverage through your employer or through the federal government. Your employer will charge you on your paycheck or the federal government will charge you on your taxes.

So yes, America... you will be charged one way or another for health care coverage under Obama's plan! It does not matter if you can afford insurance or you want insurance, you will pay!

The President and his liberal cohorts need to stop lying to the American people. Yes indeed there will be tax increases on a bunch of Americans making less than $250,000 a year.

Wisconsin's Milk Carton Politicians

Apparently a lot of states and their federal elected officials have gone missing this August.

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has affectionately begun calling them "Milk Carton Politicians".

Perhaps placing their names and faces on some milk cartons will help in locating some of Wisconsin's politicians. There are a few people that would like to have a chat with their elected officials. We can do this, folks...after all we are the dairy state, we have lots of milk cartons.

Help us locate these missing politicians!

Senator Herb Kohl-No townhalls scheduled

Senator Russ Feingold- rumor is, the good senator is hiding out in Northern Wisconsin. Problem is a vast majority of the state lives in south east Wisconsin. Perhaps a visit to south east Wisconsin is also in order.

Rep. Tammy Baldwin- Congresswoman Baldwin is phoning it in. The media is making excuses for the Congresswoman not willing to look her own constituents in the eye because of unsubstantiated claims by some in Congress about death threats.

Rep. David Obey- nothing scheduled

Hiding out in Northern Wisconsin, refusing to meet constituents face to face and flat out refusing to meet with the people that you serve is not acceptable on any level of government.

Elected officials always seem to forget that their job is to SERVE THE PEOPLE.

Are the Dems giving up already?

It sure appears that some Dems are already set to give up the public option at the very least:

After the toughest week yet for health reform, leading Democrats are warning that the party likely will have to accept major compromises to get a bill passed this year – perhaps even dropping a proposal to create a government-run plan that is almost an article of faith among some liberals.

With August dominated by angry faces and raised voices at town hall meetings, influential Democrats began laying the groundwork for the fall, particularly with the party's liberal base, saying they may need to accept a less-than-perfect bill to achieve health reform this year.

"Trying to hold the president's feet to the fire is fine, but first we have to win the big argument," former President Bill Clinton said Thursday at the Netroots Nation convention, a gathering of liberal activists and bloggers who will prove most difficult to convince. "I am pleading with you. It is OK with me if you want to keep everybody honest. . . . But try to keep this thing in the lane of getting something done. We need to pass a bill and move this thing forward."

I have got to say, if the Dems give up the public option, where is the free health care going to come from for the 47 million Americans? Wasn't this the point?

No public option=then what was the point?

Without the public option, there is no real health care reform is there?

Not a shocker, Doyle not seeking reelection

The blogosphere is all a buzz. Of course, anyone paying attention is well aware of the fact that our current governor is in big trouble with the state's electorate. With each passing day, Doyle is hit again with something else that is not working in the state.

Really it comes as no surprise that Governor Doyle will not seek re-election.

The only people not aware that Doyle would not be running again and the folks that really do not pay attention to politics very closely. I was told months ago by the Democrats that Doyle would not be running. He certainly would not have passed the budget he did, if he was.

How does this change things?

Not much. Except that every single candidate is well over $1 million behind Scott Walker in fund raising.

Pretty much every candidate is still running against or for Doyle's policies. The big names being tossed around.

Rep Ron Kind- he will have to give up his seat and seniority in the House. This will make his seat an easy target in 2010. He was considered a blue dog democrat and voted against the health care bill in committee but was still supported the president and was championing a public option.

Lt. Governor Barb Lawton- you thought Governor Doyle was liberal? You haven't met our Lt. Governor then. The Lt. Governor's primary focus has been economic development in the state of Wisconsin. Things are going well, huh? She is also called Wisconsin's "green leader". This should be fun.

Sen. Jon Erpanbach- Health Wisconsin was his brainchild. Even our liberal governor rejected the state taking over ever Wisconsinites health care plan. Enough said.

Mayor Tom Barrett- He is the mayor of Milwaukee, right? Things are going great there, right? Enough said.

Governor Doyle may have waited a little too long to get out of the race, especially since he has sucked up a bunch of money that cannot be transferred to a different candidate.

The prospects of a Republican governor in 2011 just got stronger because there is no incumbent running.

Barack Obama on end of life issues

You want to know why Americans are worried about death panels, look no further than to the President's own words from an interview in April:

The President: So that's where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues. But that's also a huge driver of cost, right? I mean, the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here.

Mr. Leonhardt: So how do you—how do we deal with it?

The President: Well, I think that there is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists. And then there is going to have to be a very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions just through the normal political channels. And that's part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance. It's not determinative, but I think has to be able to give you some guidance. And that's part of what I suspect you'll see emerging out of the various health care conversations that are taking place on the Hill right now.

Read the whole interview.

So the president wants some independent group to evaluate this end of life issues??? But there will be no death panel, right?

When you here these words coming from the President of the United States, ever single American should take pause and ask themselves, should government be involved in these types of decisions?

Did anyone notice that as the President of the United States was running around during last election that none of us knew that then candidate Obama was going through this at the time he was asking us to let government in on our health care making decisions?

Barack Obama never bothered to share this information about his grandmother with anyone even as he is asking America to allow the government into our decision making process. Candidate Obama never involved the American people or the federal government in the decision making process his family was going through. Candidate Obama was allowed to keep this decision making

Now before you get mad at me for even daring to challenge the President on this issue, I personally believe that candidate Barack Obama should not have shared that information and let all of America in on the end of life debate involving his grandmother. This is a private personal family matter that should not involve our government. The President had every right to make this decision in private without involving the American people or the government.

President Obama is currently asking us to allow the federal government in on the decision making process. It is not just end of life decisions, this involves every single aspect of our health care. Aching tooth? It is cheaper to have it pulled than put a bridge in. Blood test? Well, the government will decide the mode of treatment.

I do not understand why so many liberals, even the President, cannot seem to grasp that some items are too private and personal for the government to be involved with.

I had no right be involved in the private and personal matter the President and his family were going through last year with his grandmother.

President Obama nor anyone else in the federal government has any business being involved in mine decision making process either.

Perhaps now you see why so many Americans are scared.

As has been said over and over again. Healthy people don't need health care, only sick people do

Give us our money back!

You guys think that only conservatives are against Obama's non stimulating stimulus????

Not anymore. In fact a majority of Republicans, Independents and DEMOCRATS wants Obama to give us our money back.

Fox Poll

With improvements in the economy and only a fraction of the stimulus money having been spent so far, most Americans -- 72 percent -- say returning the unused portion of the $787 billion dollar stimulus to taxpayers would do more to boost the economy than having the government spend it. Majorities of Democrats (59 percent), Republicans (87 percent) and independents (70 percent) think the money should be returned to taxpayers.

Uh, oh.

These are not good poll results at all for the President or Democrats. There has been a clear shift in the views of Independents.

The most irrelevant Republican in America (Sarah Palin) wins a big victory

She is a quitter, right?

One little tiny short post on her Facebook page, exploded into the national debate on health care reform. Two little words...death panels..., and even some elitist's Republican heads were exploding.

Even President Obama was on national TV trying to calm fears over the "death panels". Robert Gibbs, mouthpiece for Obama slammed Palin for the last several days.

But she is irrelevant right????

She had all of America talking about death panels.

Over and over again we heard that there were no death panels, Palin was wrong.

So, again, last night, even after all of the ridicule, Palin slammed Obama and the so called health care reformers again with another Facebook entry.

Yesterday President Obama responded to my statement that Democratic health care proposals would lead to rationed care; that the sick, the elderly, and the disabled would suffer the most under such rationing; and that under such a system these “unproductive” members of society could face the prospect of government bureaucrats determining whether they deserve health care.

The President made light of these concerns.

Okay, well, today, an announcement has been made that the Senate Finance Committee has removed one section of the death panels debate.

The Hill

The Senate Finance Committee will drop a controversial provision on consultations for end-of-life care from its proposed healthcare bill, its top Republican member said Thursday.

The committee, which has worked on putting together a bipartisan healthcare reform bill, will drop the controversial provision after being derided as "death panels" to encourage euthanasia by conservatives.

I tell you what, for a Republican, that according to the liberals and the media is so irrelevant, the liberals cannot stop talking about her. Worse yet, they are even answering to her criticism. Why would anyone do that if they really thought she was that irrelevant?

Anyway, the death panel debate is not over. This is only one victory in one battle in a very long war. This is only one committee attempting to decide the future of Americans, several other committees have passed this garbage.

Keep fighting. Don't let the Obama liberals take your freedom to decide your own life and your own future.

Hat Tip Conservatives 4 Palin

Super busted - Obama astroturfing

Uh oh- Obama's Organizing for America bussed people to the Obama event. Clearly an organized event by Obama and Co.

Now, in my opinion, this is perfectly acceptable, but according to Speaker Nancy it is not. You want to help get folks to an event, that is fine, but that is not what we are being told.

Watch the video

For an Obama event, this crowd sure look 50/50. Guess the love for Obama ain't what it used to be, if you gotta bus people in.

Busted! v2

Sorry, but I just had to turn someone else in the flag@whitehouse.gov

I felt that it was my duty to turn myself in to the White House, since I disagreed with ObamaCare. Unfortunately, after hearing some falsehoods yesterday, I felt it was my duty to turn in someone else.

I sent this email to flag@whitehouse.gov

Good morning White House,

You encouraged all Americans to turn in those folks that were pushing falsehoods about ObamaCare. I felt it was my duty as an American citizen to turn in one fellow in particular. His statements on health care reform are misleading and sometimes this gentleman is pushing downright falsehoods.

The gentleman's name:

President Barack Obama
1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Washington DC

On August 11,2009 , at a townhall meeting in New Hampshire, this gentleman clearly stood up and announced to those in the room "I have not said that I was a single payer supporter...). There is the video evidence of the gentleman making this statement. Here is the link to the video evidence.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd-F8Z6sSpA

Unfortunately for this gentleman, there is additional video evidence that he has indeed stated in the past "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal program...". There is also video evidence for this statement. Here is a link to the video evidence:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpAyan1fXCE

I would like to have this gentleman thoroughly investigated for the false and misleading statements he is making during discussion of ObamaCare.

Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter. At the very least, Americans deserve an fair and honest debate on this issue. Clearly with these kinds of statements from this gentleman, America is not receiving the honest and open government that they deserve.

Have a nice day,

Kathy Carpenter

I am certain many of you will join me in turning this particular gentleman in for false and misleading statements.

H/T Hot Air

Feel free to watch the two videos I linked to here:

Is the media finally catching on?

I love it.

Some in the media are actually admitting that Obama was attempting to slam through health care reform to cut off the debate with the American people.

USA Today:

The reason the White House had pushed for congressional action before the August recess began was precisely to avoid this scenario: critics filling the summer lull with protests and ads that could raise concerns and rally opposition to Obama's top legislative priority.

Of course, the media was playing along with Obama that health care was a crisis that needed fixing before the August recess.

What was plain as the nose on all of our faces was the mere fact that Obama did not want what is happening now to happen. The President did not want any dissent on his health care plan.

After promising the most ethical and transparent government ever, Obama is not different than the rest. He is trying to take over America's health care system with the opposing view not getting a chance to speak.

The crime of "health care reform" is being foisted on the American people and the President and his cohorts do not want debate.

So far, the debate has now driven the President to tell the American people, most importantly...senior citizens, to basically sit down and shut up if you do not agree with him. The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has taken to calling those that disagree Nazi supporters and UnAmerican.

I know the President did everything in his power to stifle debate. He failed at this mission.

Obama Voter Feels Like She's Been Punked

From the Washington Post:

By Sandhya Somashekhar

The coffee was still brewing when Chris Ann Cleland got her first reminder of the day that voting for Barack Obama might have been a mistake.

The Prince William County real estate agent was sitting at a long wooden table covered with paperwork. Her clients, a young couple who had brought their 2-week-old baby, were finalizing a short sale on a townhouse that they were anxious to unload, even if it meant ruining their credit, because they had maxed out their credit cards trying to make the payments.

For Cleland, it was another example -- one of many this day -- of the broken promises of a president who she thought would be different. Obama pledged to change a Washington culture that favored corporations and the connected and instead lift families such as the one sitting next to Cleland out of their economic funk. Rather, she said, Obama has backed billions of dollars to banks that continue to "act like they're broke" and started the country down a path that Cleland said she thinks will lead to more grief for the middle class.

"He's just not as advertised," she said. "Nothing's changed for the common guy. I feel like I've been punked."

Obama: Everything fine as soon as Congress gets away from their constiuents

Sure, everything will be hunky dory as soon as lawmakers head back to the insulation world of Washington DC- or so saith President Obama.

"We are having a vigorous debate in the United States, and I think that's a healthy thing," he said, repeating that thought three times. But, he said, the dynamic will change once the recess ends and the lawmakers — and the debate — return to Washington.

"I suspect that once we get into the fall and people look at the actual legislation that's being proposed, that more sensible and reasoned arguments will emerge. And we're going to get this passed," he said.

Amazing, isn't it?

There has been a disconnect between Washington and America for years. This President promised hope and change. Remember that?

Now, our new President is pining for the insulation of Washington to protect his horrifying take over of our very lives via health care reform. Without the insulation of Washington, there is no chance for this bill to be passed. The President knows this.

Americans are demanding exactly the opposite of the practices currently being pushed by President Obama.

Don't worry America. President Obama and his insulated cohorts in Congress will make the decisions for you.

Glenn Beck Compares Angry Liberal Protesters to ‘Healthcare Mobs’

Compare and contrast from Glenn Beck:

H/T: PoliJam

Let's Talk Astroturf

RedState has a great post on the Astroturf of the left. That's right it's not coming from the right, but from the left. Lefties must be so proud they have to pay people to support their march to socialism.

So I received an email/comment this morning about a craigslist ad soliciting health care activism for money. “Activism for money,” I thought!! Was this it at last? The missing link Democrats have been searching for? Obamacare opponents turning up at town halls really are a mob?

We really are nothing but a slew of paid hacks drummed up by the promise of easy cash by cynical Obamacare opponents to create an artificial appearance of opposition?!?

Ummmm, no.

Click here to read the blog -- it has screen shots of many different postings to pay people to support ObamaCare. Astroturf? Yep. Coming from the left. It's how they do business.

Busted!

Yep- I got busted. Actually not really busted, but I did turn myself in to the White House on Friday. I turned myself in to flag@whitehouse.gov. I thought it best to save the liberals the trouble from having to tattle on me.

Vicki made me do it.(Actually she inspired me to do it)

Obama wants people to tattle on citizens who don't agree with his government run Obamacare plan.

So, why not report YOURSELF to flag@whitehouse.gov, and let 'em know how you've sinned! Here is a copy of the email I sent to the White House:

Dear Mr. President and all of the other liberals in Washington,

I would like to go ahead and turn myself in. I am one of the mobsters that is defying President Obama's health care plan. I was encouraged by another mobster standing against President Obama's socialist health care plan to go ahead and turn myself in, so I am.(a radio talk show host made me do it)

I have to be honest, even though I have committed the treasonous act of disagreeing with the President of the United States, I do not feel the least bit guilty about it. In fact, I believe the real treasonous act is being administered by the President and his liberal friends that are standing in defiance of our US Constitution.

For your benefit, Mr. President and liberals, I have provided a link to a copy of US
Constitution/Bill of Rights/Amendment 1

http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.billofrights.html#amendmenti

Bill of Rights
Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

According to our forefathers, I have the right to peaceable assembly and to address my grievances against my government(this includes the President, Congressman, and Senators).

Apparently, the current leaders in Washington and the Democrat Party have lost their copy of the US Constitution, so I thought I would provide a copy.

In another moment of honesty, I would like to go ahead and admit that I will be
continuing the treasonous act of defying the President and the liberals in Washington. I know that sounds pretty fishy since we have already been warned by the President that he does not want to hear from the American people on a problem that we created.

I also really appreciate the warning from the President that his supporters will
"get in my face" for disagreeing with the president.

However, as an American citizen, I believe that it is my duty to uphold my Constitution and to redress my grievances to my elected leaders. (Hey, didn't the President and the rest of the liberals swear an oath and promise to do the same?)

Unfortunately for the President, I and a majority of Americans will continue to defy our government. As long as the President continues to deny my freedom of speech, my gun rights, my property rights and my civil rights, the practice of defiance will continue.

Have a nice day Mr. President and liberals. See you on the protest and campaign trails.

Kathy Carpenter

To all the other mobsters, feel free to turn yourselves in. It is exhilarating!

I am the mob-v2

Yep- the mob is out of control.

Ex Democrat????

Uh oh.

Pistol packin' mamma mobster looked really scary!

My name is Kathy and I am a mobster. Are you a mobster too?

H/T Hot Air

Seriously, who is the party of disinformation?

See for yourself, the President and Co. shoving their single payer government program down the throats of regular Americans.

More propoganda from the left on Health Care reform

I received a email from a personal friend, a democrat, on health care reform. I consider this man to be a friend whom I like, respect and admire.

He sent me this report that states:

Madison, WI, August 5 — Health care reform might cost $1 trillion, but it can ultimately save the nation $3 trillion, with billions of dollars of benefits for every state in the union, including $54.5 billion in Wisconsin, a new report released today by the Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group notes.

Produced by a liberal outfit that calls themselves non-partisan. Typical liberal stuff. I followed the links to read the report and it was pretty much the same drivel as before. The report makes a bunch of statements, but is not supported by any facts at all.

It is easy for anyone just to make a bunch of statements without any numbers to back it up.

As much as I like my democrat friend, these types of "reports" are difficult to back up and should be thought of as merely propaganda. Interesting to read, but full of nonsense just the same.

The CBO has clearly told us, even with the tax increases and the so called Obama "savings", the actual legislation will increase our federal deficit. Period. End of story.

Obama has promised us that this will not happen. However, whenever anyone attempts to challenge the current legislation, we are being told to sit down and shut up.

Trying to differentiate between Obama's rhetoric and the reality of the legislation brings on an onslaught of insults, degradation and hissy fits. It has gotten so bad that some of our legislators are hiding during this August recess.

If you are so confident in your legislation, Democrats, why are you now hiding from town hall meetings?

Glenn Beck vs. AARP

DEADLY DOCTORS

From the New York Post:

O ADVISERS WANT TO RATION CARE

By BETSY MCCAUGHEY

The health bills coming out of Congress would put the decisions about your care in the hands of presidential appointees. They'd decide what plans cover, how much leeway your doctor will have and what seniors get under Medicare.

Yet at least two of President Obama's top health advisers should never be trusted with that power.

Start with Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He has already been appointed to two key positions: health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research.

Emanuel bluntly admits that the cuts will not be pain-free. "Vague promises of savings from cutting waste, enhancing prevention and wellness, installing electronic medical records and improving quality are merely 'lipstick' cost control, more for show and public relations than for true change," he wrote last year (Health Affairs Feb. 27, 2008).

Savings, he writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, "as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others" (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008).

Yes, that's what patients want their doctors to do. But Emanuel wants doctors to look beyond the needs of their patients and consider social justice, such as whether the money could be better spent on somebody else.

Many doctors are horrified by this notion; they'll tell you that a doctor's job is to achieve social justice one patient at a time.

Emanuel, however, believes that "communitarianism" should guide decisions on who gets care. He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those "who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens . . . An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia" (Hastings Center Report, Nov.-Dec. '96).

Translation: Don't give much care to a grandmother with Parkinson's or a child with cerebral palsy.

He explicitly defends discrimination against older patients: "Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination; every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25-year-olds receive priority over 65-year-olds, everyone who is 65 years now was previously 25 years" (Lancet, Jan. 31).

The bills being rushed through Congress will be paid for largely by a $500 billion-plus cut in Medicare over 10 years. Knowing how unpopular the cuts will be, the president's budget director, Peter Orszag, urged Congress this week to delegate its own authority over Medicare to a new, presidentially-appointed bureaucracy that wouldn't be accountable to the public.

Since Medicare was founded in 1965, seniors' lives have been transformed by new medical treatments such as angioplasty, bypass surgery and hip and knee replacements. These innovations allow the elderly to lead active lives. But Emanuel criticizes Americans for being too "enamored with technology" and is determined to reduce access to it.

Dr. David Blumenthal, another key Obama adviser, agrees. He recommends slowing medical innovation to control health spending.

Blumenthal has long advocated government health-spending controls, though he concedes they're "associated with longer waits" and "reduced availability of new and expensive treatments and devices" (New England Journal of Medicine, March 8, 2001). But he calls it "debatable" whether the timely care Americans get is worth the cost. (Ask a cancer patient, and you'll get a different answer. Delay lowers your chances of survival.)

Obama appointed Blumenthal as national coordinator of health-information technology, a job that involves making sure doctors obey electronically deivered guidelines about what care the government deems appropriate and cost effective.

In the April 9 New England Journal of Medicine, Blumenthal predicted that many doctors would resist "embedded clinical decision support" -- a euphemism for computers telling doctors what to do.

Americans need to know what the president's health advisers have in mind for them. Emanuel sees even basic amenities as luxuries and says Americans expect too much: "Hospital rooms in the United States offer more privacy . . . physicians' offices are typically more conveniently located and have parking nearby and more attractive waiting rooms" (JAMA, June 18, 2008).

No one has leveled with the public about these dangerous views. Nor have most people heard about the arm-twisting, Chicago-style tactics being used to force support. In a Nov. 16, 2008, Health Care Watch column, Emanuel explained how business should be done: "Every favor to a constituency should be linked to support for the health-care reform agenda. If the automakers want a bailout, then they and their suppliers have to agree to support and lobby for the administration's health-reform effort."

Do we want a "reform" that empowers people like this to decide for us?

What did Democrats expect?

Once again, the Democrats are offended.

What are they offended about?

They are once again offended by Rush Limbaugh's comments.

In the latest round of political sparring over disruptive healthcare town hall meetings gone awry, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) encouraged its ranks to sign a petition demanding that GOP House Minority Leader John Boehner (Ohio) and his deputy, GOP Whip Eric Cantor (Va.), denounce Limbaugh’s highly charged riff comparing the Democratic Party to Nazis.

Let's see... in the last week, Obama and Co. have accused Republicans of scaring people, lying to people, astroturfing, wearing the wrong clothing to protests and carrying swastikas to town hall meetings. Just for good measure, the President wants Americans to sit down and shut up because they created this problem.

Now there sensibilities are offended because Limbaugh, who is not a Republican, called them Nazis????

Update on Senator Kohl’s August 2009 Recess Schedule

As always, Senator Kohl will be traveling throughout Wisconsin during the Senate recess in August. He will visit many communities in all parts of the state to meet with both individuals and groups on the topic of health care reform and his work to reduce health care costs. In addition to focusing on health care, Senator Kohl also plans to host the Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Margaret Hamburg in Madison to discuss food safety; visit the campuses of academic institutions such as Nicolet College, UW Green Bay and Viterbo; and speak to seniors at events in Northern Wisconsin. Once Senator Kohl’s schedules are finalized, his public events are announced through the media.

While Senator Kohl tries to accommodate the many requests he receives, time does not always permit it. That’s why he established his five offices around Wisconsin—located in Madison, Milwaukee, Appleton, Eau Claire and LaCrosse—to provide additional personal contact and assistance. If you are specifically interested in learning more about health care, you can read his latest remarks or view his speech.

Additionally, you can sign up for his health care reform listserv by emailing health_reform@kohl.senate.gov. You may also sign up for Senator Kohl’s general e-newsletter on our home-page at kohl.senate.gov. And, as always, you can send Senator Kohl an e-mail with your thoughts here.

Thank you for visiting Senator Kohl’s website.

Duh, that's right, Herb Kohl doesn't do townhall meetings. As you can see, Senator really cares about you and your healthcare, he did release a video. However, if you want to challenge the Senator face to face... well, you are out of luck. He is too chicken to face you.
