Kennedy + Alcohol = Another car accident

Those darn Kennedy's are at it again. Once again- A Kennedy was drinking and crashed his car. And once again- mysteriously, the Kennedy will get away with it.

WASHINGTON - Rep. Patrick Kennedy crashed his car near the Capitol early Thursday, and a police official said he appeared intoxicated. Kennedy said he had taken sleep medication and a prescription anti-nausea drug that can cause drowsiness.
Kennedy, D-R.I., addressed the issue after a spate of news reports. His initial statement said: “I consumed no alcohol prior to the incident.“’
Later, however, he issued a longer statement saying the attending physician for Congress had prescribed Phenergan on Tuesday to treat Kennedy’s gastroenteritis.

Someone should tell Kennedy that the drug excuse is not any better than the alcohol excuse.

Kennedy, the son of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., and his staff declined to discuss any further details of the accident. The congressman took part in House votes Thursday.

I guess the apple did not fall far from the tree, 'eh Senator Teddy?????

Baird wrote McGaffin that two sergeants who responded to the accident conferred with the watch commander and were ordered to leave the scene.

Of course, sticking with the true Kennedy tradition, the Congressman gets away with it.

Kennedy, drugs, booze and yet the stuck on stupid voters keep them in office.
At least this time some young lady did NOT die at the hands of a Kennedy

For honesty's sake, we should note that there is no evidence of drunk driving---unlike our state AG. On the other hand, the reason, there is no evidence one way or the other regarding Rep. Kennedy is that police supervisors took him home without submitting him to a sobriety test. We also should not create a guilt by association--just because his father has (had? a drinking problem, doesnt mean that his son does.

This is more of a case of well-connected person getting away with something(probably) than anything else.

Actually there is now proof that he went home WITHOUT a field test.

He now is goint to get professional help. As in a rehab center. I think that would be the Kennedy compound on Martha's Vineyard.

Actually the Mayo Clinic.

We should also be careful about throwing stones since Rush Limbaugh got off easy also in his case.

We need to act like Republicans and not Democrats in the matter.

I could not disagree with you more, Jeff.

Rush Limbaugh was made out to be a criminal by the media. "Doctor Shopping, yada.. yada...." The media set out to destroy Rush.

Kennedy, on the other hand is made out to be a victim. Currently the Washington Post is running a story about the drug- Ambien. Blaming the drug for Kennedy's problems.

We have seen this stuff before. The media pats the Democrat on their head and wants to cart them off to rehab. The media demands the arrest of a Republican and wants them carted off to prison.

That is exactly what is happening when comparing Kennedy to Limbaugh.

What should be happening is that both should be held to account for their behavior with Representative Kennedy having the higher standard since he is an elected official.
