Whispering sweet nothings...Obama and Clinton

This article caught my attention. It is an article how Obama has flipped from claiming that Clinton did nothing more than travel the world having tea and crumpets as her foreign policy experience, to now Clinton is the most qualified person to be his Secretary of State. The article got me to thinking about exactly how badly Obama tore into Hillary and her foreign policy experience. It was bad.

Obama's team released a massive memo absolutely tearing Hillary Clinton apart on this subject. I found a copy on HuffPo.

When your entire campaign is based upon a claim of experience, it is important that you have evidence to support that claim. Hillary Clinton's argument that she has passed "the Commander- in-Chief test" is simply not supported by her record.

There is no doubt that Hillary Clinton played an important domestic policy role when she was First Lady. It is well known, for example, that she led the failed effort to pass universal health insurance. There is no reason to believe, however, that she was a key player in foreign policy at any time during the Clinton Administration. She did not sit in on National Security Council meetings. She did not have a security clearance. She did not attend meetings in the Situation Room. She did not manage any part of the national security bureaucracy, nor did she have her own national security staff. She did not do any heavy-lifting with foreign governments, whether they were friendly or not. She never managed a foreign policy crisis, and there is no evidence to suggest that she participated in the decision-making that occurred in connection with any such crisis. As far as the record shows, Senator Clinton never answered the phone either to make a decision on any pressing national security issue - not at 3 AM or at any other time of day.

When asked to describe her experience, Senator Clinton has cited a handful of international incidents where she says she played a central role. But any fair-minded and objective judge of these claims - i.e., by someone not affiliated with the Clinton campaign - would conclude that Senator Clinton's claims of foreign policy experience are exaggerated.

The memo goes on to list in great detail how Hillary was bald faced lying about her experience in foreign policy.

These are not just cheap shots that the Obama campaign was flinging at Hillary. This is a well thought out, total destruction of Hillary Clinton and her foreign policy experience.

Secretary of State!

The head honcho in charge of his administration's foreign policy team. The face of America's foreign policy initiatives will be Hillary Clinton.

When the Obama team was asked about the change of heart...

A spokesperson for the Obama transition team declined to comment on the shift in tone.
I read some of the comments about Hillary Clinton and her foreign policy experience in the HuffPo article. Nasty! It makes you wonder how long it will take the lefty liberal loonies to change their minds and accept Hillary Clinton.

Comment on HuffPo:

Why isn't anyone questioning her on China foreign policy. During her time in the White House as first lady, China was granted permanent Most Favored Nation Status. That lead to the dropping of trade barriers with a failing communist govt. that started a avalanche of American manufacturing jobs moving to China.

The result, we rescued a communist nation from failure and sold out the American worker.

Great news! At least we know now who is was that sent all those high paying union jobs over to China. It was the Clinton's! And to think Obama was blaming Bush and McCain.

Now we see that in the lefty liberal loony person's eyes, Hillary's biggest foreign policy mistake in their eyes and Barack Obama's biggest foreign policy success was her support and his opposition to the Iraq war.

Oh that's right, Barack Obama no longer opposes the Iraq war and has no intention of pulling out the troops early like he stated. In fact, Barack Obama is following George Bush's lead on this issue and letting the US commanders and the Iraq government decide when the troops should be pulled out. Imagine that!

My Thanksgiving

Had an interesting day yesterday. I was over at some friends home yesterday and had one of them ask me "Isn't this the worst economy ever?" Yes, she is a Democrat. A lovely woman, with an incredible life.

My answer... No, not even close.

I explained why...

We sat around a Thanksgiving feast fit for a king. There was more food packed on the table than was possible to eat.

The house was warm and filled with heat. Outside in the garage sat two motorcycles and a second refrigerator filled with food.

In the driveway and down the street were cars of every make and model, none of them more than 10 years old. We actually had more vehicles than we had people sitting inside the house that could drive them.

We all came into the house with a pair of shoes on, a warm jacket on, gloves and mittens, laden down with even more food we could not possible eat.

When we all left, we all had roofs over our heads, clothes for our bodies, warm beds to sleep in, and TVs, radios, computers and whatever else to keep ourselves entertained.

So, no, this is not the worst economy ever. Most Americans, about 99.9999% of them had a warm place to gather on Thanksgiving. Even for those without as much as a the rest of us have shelters to sleep in and food provided to them.

Even though my party has had their butts handed to them in the last two elections, I could not find one single thing to complain about yesterday. We will survive a Obama presidency with a lunatic lefty Congress leading the way

I live in the greatest country in the world, filled with opportunity. I am a lucky woman.

I did find it rather entertaining that even though I sat in a room filled with mostly Democrats, they were the ones complaining and complaining as they scarfed down a second helping of pumpkin pie.

They also live in the greatest country in the world filled with opportunity AND they have been handed the exact government they have demanded and yet... they could not stop complaining.

Go figure, huh?

Wisconsin's welfare state

How sad is this?

Wisconsin had one of the five worst migration patterns in the United States from 2000 to 2006. Higher income individuals left Wisconsin. Individuals on the lowest rung of the economic ladder migrated to Wisconsin.

The Princeton report concludes simply, "Wisconsin is more attractive to low income individuals than high wage earners."

That migration impacts the financial, the social and the human capital
of Wisconsin. But what is the impact on tax revenues? What is the cost to the
taxpayers for services to the new residents?

These are questions that deserve immediate study. In the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea, UW researchers, the legislative council and the independent think tanks should be addressing these questions.

What might explain these migration trends? The brain drain of college graduates is well known. Also well studied is the loss of wealthy retirees to lower tax environments. And Gov. Jim Doyle and the Legislature have taken action to retain higher income groups by repealing the estate tax and by eliminating the jobs penalty in the formula for corporate taxation. But both trends still should concern state policymakers.

The surprise in the Princeton report was the attraction of low income individuals to Wisconsin -- perhaps a new welfare migration.

The New York Times first chronicled the welfare migration from Chicago
to Madison in 1995. Wasn't Wisconsin's pioneering welfare reform intended to
stop that trend?

A report presented at a 2008 Federal Reserve Conference on
the Midwest economy sheds some light on the issue.

According to that presentation, Wisconsin has the highest welfare benefits in the Midwest. Welfare reform imposed time limits on benefits and introduced work requirements. But Wisconsin retained its generous benefit levels. They are nearly 10 percent higher than in Minnesota and almost 30 percent higher than in Illinois.

And Wisconsin has other benefits for low income individuals.

Although state comparisons are difficult to make, the Brookings Institute reports
that Wisconsin has one of the most generous state earned income tax credit programs in the United States. Although described as a tax credit, the state refundable EITC is simply another payment to low income workers.

The problem is, when the economy was really growing from 2003 to 2006, we just increased spending. We, as a state, borrowed money from the transportation fund, etc... We now do not have this to fall back on anymore.

When we attempted to have the conversations that could have really addressed this stuff with our elected leaders in 2006. There was wailing and screaming from the lefties.

Anything and everything was thrown out there to distract us from the real issues. Remember Michael J. Fox and his ads on stem cell research? Doyle's people actually making the claim that Mark Green was against sick children.

How about the ads claiming Mark Green had used illegal funds for his campaign. Ad after ad after ad making this claim. Turns out the funds were made illegal by Doyle's team on the State Elections board, just during election time. After the election "ooopsie", I guess Mark Green never did anything wrong after all.

Remember Doyle insisting "he had balanced the budget". Doyle said this over and over and over again.

If Doyle had really balanced the budget, that means he shoulders the entire burden for the $5.6 billion we are now in debt.

Time and time again the people of Wisconsin were distracted from the realities of life in Wisconsin. Instead they were fed some line of bull about Washington being to blame.

Now, having spent all the money that would or could have gotten us through the rough times, our state is in some pretty dire straights. We do not have the finances to fix the problem without massive tax increases. Money is gone from the Transportation fund. The money is gone from the Patient's compensation fund and still we have the lawsuits to battle costing us even more.

It is a crock.

But hey, by reading the comments in this article, you can see the Republicans are to blame. Not Doyle.

Their ignorance is amazing. There is no arguing with these guys. They will not see the truth because they do not want to see the truth.

We got the government we asked for and are stunned when you find out you have been lied to.

It was the media

I made this same argument last week.

The media created Barack Obama and then got him elected. Now the ignorance of the people on very basic issues that should have decided this election is now shining through. The Obama folks apparently do not like to made to look like fools.

As a result Ziegler’s email inbox has been flooded with profanity-laced emails accusing him of racism, bigotry and hate mongering. (He submitted 25 of these emails for my review, but many of them are unprintable.) “Whoever started this sight [sic] is a racist!” one email sent from someone identified as Andrea Gurule said. “What? You couldn’t handle a black man beating out a white man?! The man is qualified. More so than John McCain. Regardless, He’s your president. Get over it!”

From Amanda Carpenter at Town Hall:

Ziegler said he didn’t originally conduct such poll for McCain voters because his documentary is focusing on how Obama got elected, not McCain. He will likely include the McCain poll results in the film and along with more detail about the outcry over his original poll.
“All this controversy proves the overriding premise” that the media helped Obama get elected Ziegler said.

And people think Sarah Palin is an idiot

There is something wrong with this headline from the AP:

Obama promotes fiscal restraint, big spending

Fiscal restraint and big spending???? How is that possible?

Funny thing is, that is exactly what Obama is doing. Obama plans on spending alot of money and showing fiscal restraint also.

A day after introducing the captains of his economic team and promoting a giant jobs plan, Obama on Tuesday was to lay out his budget belt-tightening vision. The dual images — big spender and disciplined budget watcher — were designed to give both political and economic assurances to the public, the Congress and the financial markets.

Of course these things do not match up, but hey it is Obama... so the plan must be brilliant, right?

The reality is, Obama has no clue what to do...he is just saying anything right now, hoping that he is guessing right.

Right next to the cranberries

Thank goodness Sarah only pardoned one of them. Add Image

Despite Turkeygate and Olbie's reaction, the rest of us folks need something sitting right next to the cranberries and mashed pototoes.

I found this on the Team Sarah website. Check it out.

This is "hope and change"?

A couple of weeks ago, many of us were curious whether or not we had just elected another Jimmy Carter.

After only a couple of weeks of juggling his priorities, we actually see now that we have elected another George W. Bush.

I am serious folks.

The whole “yank the troops out of Iraq” has fallen by the wayside. Now Obama wants to increase troops in Afghanistan and raid Pakistan.

Bush tax cuts? Apparently the whole “stick it to the rich theme” was just a hoax. Just yesterday, Obama’s people were backpedaling as fast as they can.

Apparently, the Bush tax cuts may need to be extended, even for the rich. After all we cannot increase anyone’s taxes during these economic times. (When McCain made this same claim during a debate, he was considered a dolt and just pandering to the rich)

Bush deficits? Obama has announced a trillion in new spending with absolutely no way of paying for it. Previously, Obama had railed about these types of plans increasing the deficit.

Now, Obama’s plan of an economic stimulus looks like Bush’s plan on steroids. Why give only a Bush type stimulus plan of $250 billion when Obama can give away a $500 billion?

Is Bush’s growth of government too big for you? Good news, Obama plans to grow government even bigger giving away 2.5 million in government created jobs to build roads and stuff. Good idea?

I guess that all of you folks that voted for “hope and change” are left wondering like the rest of us. Where is the hope? Where is the change?

So far, Barack Obama has signaled that he plans on bringing neither hope or change to the table when he is sworn in this January.

Of course, even as I make the argument that Barack Obama is looking a lot like George W. Bush these days, the same argument can be made that Obama’s White House will look a lot like the Clinton White House.

I guess the Clinton’s really are winning back the White House, even if their names are not at the top of the list…

The Clinton Restoration. This is written by David Kahane over at the NRO.

Call your psychiatrist's office

After seeing this Gallup poll, I am a little worried for Kathleen Parker, Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, and David Frum.

All of these so called "conservative" writers have spent the last several months creaming Governor Sarah Palin.

My advice (all though I am not a doctor, I think I should get to play one on TV, because I am certain the pay would be much higher than what I currently make), is for each one of these writers to visit their psychiatrist's office first thing on Monday morning. They may need to be fully medicated to survive the next 4 years.

With low negatives and high positives, Governor Palin may drive these folks batty over the next few years.

Send me your readers

It's a deal, Elliot.

I will direct my 4 readers to your post if you send your readers to mine.

Of course, you have been on my blogroll for a very long time. I cannot help but notice that I am not on yours.

But my feelings are not hurt. (Okay maybe a little hurt, but I normally recover from these things within two to three years. Hey, I am a woman. As a woman, I reserve the right to change my mind any time I want to and to be petty and vindictive. So there!)

Serioulsy folks, this is a good blog- go read it and educate yourselves.

Urinetown

Seriously, is this an appropriate type of play we want our kids at Bradford HS to be producing?

Not exactly a classic.

Urinetown is an award-winning satirical comedy musical that pokes fun at capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and petty small town politics, as well as advocating environmentalism.

Our tax dollars hard at work.

Who makes these decisions every year on which plays will be produced with our tax dollars?

Auto bailout... That's it?

No, seriously, that’s it?

Apparently the Democrats have already given up on a plan to help the auto industry. They just threw up their hands and blamed President George Bush.

Senate Leader Harry Reid says this is President Bush’s problem to fix.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., scrapped plans Wednesday for a vote
on a bill to carve $25 billion in new auto industry loans out of the $700
billion Wall Street rescue fund.

It's really up to Bush's team to
act, he said.
Goofball Harry Reid realized that Americans, in an overwhelming majority, were not in the least bit interested in handing over billions of dollars without forcing some kind of changes from automakers. Changes? Yeah, changes!

Remember change?

The entire Democratic platform just swept into office in 2006 and 2008 promised change. Now they are not interested in change.

Speaking of change… Where is President elect Barack Obama?

Why is he not leading on this issue?

You would think with the amount of money and volunteers that the UAW gave to Barack Obama to win the presidential election, at the very least, Barack Obama would be leading the charge to protect the autoworkers from losing their jobs, pensions and health care.

Instead there is virtually dead silence coming out of Barack Obama. Nothing, nada, zippo!

This automaker mess directly affects Kenosha. Many people living in my district are former employees of Chrysler and American Motors who need their retirement just to keep their homes and to put food on the table.

The most frustrating part about this is that the money to help the automakers is already approved. Approval took place back in September when lawmakers set aside $25 billion for the automakers to begin changing over their industries to smaller and more fuel efficient vehicles.

But instead of just handing over the money already approved and allowing the automakers get through this difficult time, the Democrats are refusing to hand over the money.

They say it is for future development.

Future development?

There is no future to develop if the Democrats don’t get off their collective backsides and do something.

The answer to the Democrats problem is right in front of them with the $25 billion already approved in September and for some reason the Democrats are refusing to act on this problem.

President Bush and Republicans has already said he would go along with restructuring the loan agreements for the $25 billion already approved.

But nooooooo, the Democrats cannot do this; their environmentalist friends would have their heads for this.

The Democrats are in quite a quandary. The money to fix the autoworkers problems is sitting right in front of them, but they are not allowed to touch that money for fear of retribution from the environmentalists.

Right now the Democrats are trapped in between the UAW (who have been very loyal to them) and the environmentalists.

President elect Barack Obama needs to stop picking out new curtains for the White House and start providing the leadership and judgment he has committed to the American people.

The Democrats who currently control Congress need to stop worrying about who is going to be leading their committees and who gets the fanciest office and start worrying about the American people.

President Bush cannot force a vote on this, neither can the Republicans.

The ball is entirely in the court of President elect Obama and his fellow Democrats. Only Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi can structure the deal and call for the vote.

Instead in true Harry Reid style, he drops the ball and points the finger at President Bush. Clearly the Democrats are not showing leadership, but just pointing the finger of blame.

Hey Democrats, the solution to your problem is sitting right in front of you, do what is best for the American autoworker and deal with the environmentalists later!

The $25 billion in loans have already been approved, they just need to be restructured. So give the loans and let's get the American economy back on track.

President Hopenchange

So much for change...

WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Barack Obama promised the voters change,
but he has started his Cabinet selection process by naming several Washington
insiders to top posts.
Obama is enlisting former Senate leader Tom Daschle as
his health secretary. Hillary Rodham Clinton seemed more likely than ever to be
his secretary of state. Clinton is deciding whether to take that post as
America's top diplomat, her associates said Wednesday.
Obama is ready to
announce that his attorney general will be Eric Holder, the Justice Department's
No. 2 when Clinton's husband was president. Rahm Emanuel, Obama's chief of
staff, is another veteran of the Clinton White House.

Clearly, there is no hope for change.

I find it amazing that the AP has decided now to actually pit Obama's record up against his rhetoric. Perhaps the AP did not realize that Obama completely surrounded himself with Chicago and Washington insiders in his run for President. What made them think that he would change now????

Speaking of Chicago insiders, apparently Obama has picked Penny Pritzker to head the Department of Commerce.

The same woman who presided over a bank failure in Chicago costing it's customer millions.

But hey, President Hopenchange has already got his excuse lined up:

Obama's campaign notes that Pritzker stepped down as chairwoman of the
bank's board in 1994, seven years before it failed. She then went on the board
of the bank's holding company.
But a letter obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times shows that until the end, Pritzker appeared to be taking a leadership role in trying to revive the bank with an expanded push into subprime loans.
Pritzker wrote in May 2001 that her family was recapitalizing the bank, and she pledged to "once again restore Superior's leadership position in subprime lending." The bank shut down in July 2001.
Pritzker's attorney Kevin Poorman and Obama's campaign spokesman emphasized that not all "subprime lending" is the "predatory" kind that Obama and White House rival Hillary Clinton rail against. The kind of subprime lending Superior was doing in 2001 was not predatory, Poorman said.

Who says a sandwich is not a weapon?

Who says a sandwich is not a weapon?

Dude is out on $7500 bail.

A man faces a domestic battery charge after allegedly hitting his girlfriend
with a sandwich as she was driving on Interstate 95 on Friday. Police said the
19-year-old man became angry and hit the woman in the arm and face with a
sandwich, knocking her glasses off.
The victim nearly lost control of the car because she couldn't see the road and the man then allegedly ripped off the rear-view mirror and used it to shatter the windshield.
The man was freed on $7,500 bail.

How Obama Got Elected... Interviews With Obama Voters

I know that many folks are laughing today at the ridiculous statements made from the Obama supporters that seem to have no idea of the realities of America.

But let's be honest- the real reason many of these folks have no idea that the Congress is currently controlled by the Democrats is because that is what the media wanted people to believe.

The reason Governor Sarah Palin is considered to be a blithering idiot, is because that is what the media wants people to believe.

The reason the American people are completely ignorant of the truth about Barack Obama is because the media wants them to be totally ignorant.

The media decided what that they wanted Barack Obama to be president and then proceeded to tell any lie, hide the real truth and paint the picture they wanted America to see.

This year, more than any year, the media lost all credibility.

Most in the media are liars, cheats and thieves who stole the dignity of this country.

The question is will these liars actually pull themselves together and report the truth on the Barack Obama presidency or will they continue to cover up the truth?

The reasons we love Sarah Palin

Clearly, the Democrats and the media do not get it, but there are a few lunkheads in the Republican Party that are struggling with it also, but there are reasons a large majority of the GOP have flocked to Sarah Palin.

Not only did the loss in this month’s election not destroy Governor Sarah Palin, she has actually gotten stronger.

Every media outlet is clamoring for an interview. Senator McCain has only been out once and that was on Jay Leno. We have not even heard a peep out of Joe Biden, the actual vice president elect.

The interviews have been sporadic for President elect Barack Obama, but that is typical of a president or president elect. They hold press conferences and rarely do interviews.

It must be driving the mainstream media absolutely nuts that less than a week after losing an election, the governor has been re-launched into the stratosphere.

The Governor was supposed to crawl away in humiliated defeat and hide away in the Alaskan tundra. She had been thoroughly repudiated by the mainstream media as a bubble headed evil conservative Christian woman. The media had exposed this woman to the rest of the world as a blithering idiot for not taking the smart way out of a difficult situation and just aborted her Down syndrome child.

No sooner had the media viciously dismissed her, than these same media personalities were digging through their own closets and drawers looking for their winter coats and their warm mittens because they were headed up to Alaska to beg for an interview.

So why did she not just crawl away?

And why in the world would she resurface so quickly after being dismissed by the media?

Well the answer to this question is a lot simpler than you would think.

It is about leadership and principles.

I know there are a couple of governors and even Newt Gingrich attempting to tamper down the buzz surrounding Governor Sarah Palin, but the people have already gotten a glimpse of the conservative movement and they will not be denied.

Governor Palin has her principles and she stands on those principles. This is real leadership. She does not falter and she does not compromise. The governor is unapologetically pro-life, pro-drilling, pro-God and pro-gun. But even more than the populist message, the governor is a fiscal conservative.

The governor has actually begun the process of stopping the earmark requests from the federal government and also cut the capital improvement budget since she has been in office. Something that is unheard of in our lovely state. WWIII almost broke out over a $5 Billion budget surplus. A surplus that she helped create by raising the rent that the oil companies paid to the people of Alaska for use of their natural resources.

Palin's stern veto pen at a time when the state is swimming in cash has helped
establish her credentials as a fiscal conservative, economic analysts here say
-- although critics complain that she has failed to use the state's
unprecedented oil bounty to help tackle perennial issues of domestic violence,
alcoholism and inadequate child healthcare."The surplus just seems to get bigger
and bigger," said Oliver Scott Goldsmith, head of the Institute for Social and
Economic Research at the University of Alaska. "The state is awash in oil
dollars, and the projection is that for the next few years we will have
significant surpluses over and above current levels -- in the billions of
dollars."Estimates of the budget surplus by early next year range from $5
billion to $9 billion, a huge amount in a state of 670,000 people. Spending it
-- or saving it for a day when oil is not so plentiful or expensive -- is one of
the central policy issues confronting the administration of Palin, the running
mate of Republican presidential nominee John McCain. The governor is facing a
dizzying array of requests from legislators to find a comfortable home for the
money, including technology upgrades in the schools, new surgical wings in
regional hospitals, fire stations and roads.

This is how you lead by example. Better yet, she not only did she slash the budget, she even put together this nifty easy to read chart showing exactly what she slashed, gave a reason for why she slashed it and gave the totals at the bottom. Why isn’t every state creating one of these easy to read and understand.

So as you can see, there are reasons far beyond her populist message for conservatives to embrace Sarah Palin.

But Sarah Palin is our only future hope, there are others. Congressman Paul Ryan is another. As a financial expert he will help the GOP navigate the mess we are currently sitting in right now.

With less than a year in office as the Governor of Loisiana, I am looking forward to seeing more out of Bobby Jindal also.

As we move forward, I am hoping that dozens of these types of conservatives begin to pop up around the country.

The party of old, washed up, moderate Republicans must come to an end. A party of principled ideology and dedicated public servants is where we are headed.

I know, I know

My blogging has been very light.

Right in the middle of a budget battle for the city of Kenosha.

I see some of you have kept yourselves pretty entertained anyway. You have even gone so far as to commenting on posts that are over a year old.

Well have at it. I will get back to you shortly.

Hey- you voted for them

Is it too soon for me to say "I told you so"?

The new president and the new state and national legislature have not even been sworn in yet and we can already see the tax increases coming.

The Democrats here in Wisconsin are already promising tax increases:

Over the past two years, Doyle has tried to get approval for the taxes on hospitals and oil companies, but Republicans who controlled the Assembly blocked them. The proposals have a much better chance after last week's election because Democrats will now run both houses of the Legislature.

I bet some of you folks fell for the "95% of Americans will not see a tax increase".

The reality is that right here in Wisconsin, 100% of Wisconsinites WILL SEE A TAX INCREASE!

Hey- you voted for them.

Obama media bias?

No way, they must be joking!

Washington Post actually admits their media bias. Of course, they make an excuse for it.

An Obama Tilt in Campaign Coverage

Of course, just because they admit it is true, AFTER the election does not make it right.

Kinda reminds me of the relationships between men and woman.

Ladies- how often have you heard the men in your life state "Yes, honey, I know I am a jerk". It is if they admit that they are being jerks somehow absolves them from continuing their jerk behavior. It does not.

Yes, the Washington Post, along with 99% of the mainstream media nominated and then elected Barack Obama to be the next president.

Truth be damned, they wanted Barack and they were perpetrate any lie and any theory in order to make sure that happened.

Elitist Republicans vs. Working-Class Republicans

We could not have worked any harder than we did, but the outcome was set in stone the day the stock market headed south.

The question is “Where does the Republican party go from here?”

I think the direction we need to move is very clear. It is time for us to retake our Republican Party.

Over the last 10 years, the elitist Republicans have taken over the Party and the Working-class Republicans have been virtually ignored.

So what is an Elitist or Working-class republican?

Elitist Republicans (Belling likes to call them “Country Club Republicans”):

These people do not necessarily have money, they just have that typical know it all attitude. Similar to Democrats, they insist on telling a person what is best for them. Rarely can you find an elitist Republican standing on any principles. In fact, it is very difficult to figure out what their principles are because they continue to shift depending on who is standing next to them within earshot distance.

Elitist Republicans insist on reaching across the aisle. Clearly their first priority is making sure that they do not make anyone angry, lest they not be invited to the Holiday party or the weekend elitist cocktail hour.

Don’t ever question the elitists Republicans, they immediately invoke the name of Ronald Reagan, and begin whining that you are attacking them.

If there is actually work to be done, normally an elitist Republican is nowhere to be found.

Elitist Republicans are like Democrats, they try to buy elections. They have no message that they can clearly define. Since they have such difficulty standing on any principles, they are willing to sacrifice their integrity and say anything to get elected.

The elitists do not inspire, they have no message, and they have no courage.

Example elitist Republicans: Mitt Romney, Tom DeLay, Kathleen Parker, Rep. Jeff Wood, and Peggy Noonan

Working-class Republicans:

These folks are not necessarily all working class, some are doctors, attorneys, business persons, it is just an attitude. For the record, the elitist republicans call the Working-class republicans, rednecks.

The Working-class Republicans actually do the hard work. They are not afraid to get in the trenches and do battle on a daily basis.

You will find the Working-class republicans flipping burgers at county party picnics or staying hours and hours into the night filling our paperwork as they desperately fight for a victory that seems so far away. They spend much of their free time pounding in yard signs, dropping lit, knocking on doors and making tens of thousands of phone calls.

Working-class republicans stand on their principles of God, guns, and small government. They don’t apologize for being conservative. They are often accused of being “out of the mainstream”. Amazingly, the Working-class republicans are a majority of the Republican Party, yet they have been pushed to the side and treated as if their opinions don’t count.

Often times, the Working-class republicans are told to sacrifice their principles in order to get the Elitist republicans elected to office. They have been told to just shut up because the elitist republicans cannot afford to fall out of favor with the Democrats.

Example Working-class Republicans: Governor Sarah Palin, Congressman Paul Ryan, Writer Byron York and Writer Thomas Sowell.

I guess the easiest way to tell the difference between the Elitist Republicans and Working-Class Republicans is this:

Elitist Republicans value power over principles.

Working-class Republicans value principles over power.

Well, as a Working-class republican myself, I have had enough. For too many years the elitist republicans have dictated that we sacrifice our principles in order to remain in power.

Personally, I am sick and tired of defending elitist Republicans as they are indicted. I am also tired of defending elitist Republicans against ethical charges. It is true that many good and decent working class republicans also have the fingers pointed at them by unethical democrats, but you can usually tell the unethical Republicans and the ethical ones being falsely charged.

I am wholly convinced that it is the Elitist Republicans who once again bailed on their principles and voted for Barack Obama for President. If they wanted to hang onto any kind of power and continue to be invited to the important cocktail parties, they had to buddy up with the Democrats. No matter how unethical and immoral they would have to behave, they are willing to sacrifice their principles to stay in power.

Well, the unethical and immoral Republicans with their Democrat buddies won this round of elections.

I believe it is time to run the Elitist Republicans out of the party and build this party around our principles once again. Americans could no longer see the difference between Republicans and Democrats because the elitists’ among us acted very much like the Democrats.

We will take our party back and show American the real difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Maybe this will shut the fraidy cat McCain staffers up

Trashing Sarah Palin seems to be all the rage from McCain Campaign aids. Clearly these aides do not want to blame their own incompetence for losing.

Perhaps this will shut the idiots up.

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republican voters say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin helped John McCain’s bid for the presidency, even as news reports surface that some McCain staffers think she was a liability.

Maybe this will shut up the former staffers of Romney and Huckabee that started working for McCain after their original candidates crashed and burned. Rumor has it they are the cowards trashing Palin:

When asked to choose among some of the GOP’s top names for their choice for the party’s 2012 presidential nominee, 64% say Palin. The next closest contenders are two former governors and unsuccessful challengers for the presidential nomination this year -- Mike Huckabee of Arkansas with 12% support and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts with 11%.

Smoking ban in Kenosha is dead

Rumor has it that the smoking ban in Kenosha is now officially dead. 11 out of 17 city districts voted against it on Tuesday.

It has turned into a real embarrassment for many of Kenosha's alderman who originally supported the ban and even went so far as to sponsor this extreme legislation.

9 of 17 aldermen, a majority, had signed on as sponsors. This assured the passage of the ban even before the legislation was introduced. This legislation was three weeks away from guaranteed passage.

Then Tuesday, many of the same sponsors to this legislation actually voted against the ban.

I heard though the rumor mill that aldermen were pulling their names off of the bill as sponsors and as of today, there are no more sponsors to this legislation. It is dead.

As you know, I was one of the aldermen that was against the smoking ban from the get go. I could not be more happy that I was one of three aldermen that actually deferred this piece of legislation to keep it from getting rammed though before anyone in the community had the opportunity to speak on the issue. Thank goodness!

I would hate to see the city government actually get tarnished for this when so many people were against a smoking ban.

The secretiveness of this was beyond the pale. If this had made it out of committee back in August, the smoking ban would already be in place and all of the taverns in Kenosha would be struggling even more with a downturn in the economy.

We will see in tomorrow's paper if every sponsor has pulled out.

Either way, congrats to all of the citizens of Kenosha and the tavern owners who rose up in defiance of their city government and told them NO! You worked so hard to kill this and you won.

I am a firm believer that government on any level needs to stay out of the private business of their citizens.

Edited to add: True enough, all of the sponsors have pulled out of the ordinance, per the Kenosha News.

Here is a link to the original ordinance

The Election

Congrats to Barack Obama.

That is about as good as you will get from me.

America has reached very dangerous territory.

What is very clear is the American dream is dead. The days are gone when a person in America could work hard and become successful.

The very system that allowed Barack Obama to become successful is the very system that will be destroyed over the next few years by Barack Obama.

How many different times has Barack Obama's tax plan changed?

At first, only those making more than $250, 000 a year would suffer with tax increase...

In the last several weeks, those considered to be too rich by Barack Obama's standards have seen the tax plan change.

We have now moved down to $200,000 as being too rich.

Then the figure was revised down to $150,000 by VP candidate Joe Biden.

Go figure, another Obama surrogate, Bill Richardson then revised it down to $120,000.

Now a new You Tube video has popped up showing that Barack Obama believes that $50,000 to $70,000 are really the middle class.

So now we are down to $50,000 to $70,000 may suffer under Barack Obama's rich category.

At the rate Barack Obama is making downward revisions, in Barack's eyes I will be considered a rich woman by Tuesday.

No, I won't be making any more money by then, I will just be another victim of Barack Obama's downward spiraling tax plan.

Barack's broken promise

Hat tip- Hot Air

CNN was one of the few tv stations not running the Obama's grand infomercial tonight.

Campbell Brown took this opportunity to bash on Obama and remind folks that this is the same person that promised to adhere to the public financing rules a year ago.

The "very expensive" infomercial is from money that Obama lied to Americans about and promised not to raise.

The only thing that could have been better about this piece is if Ms. Brown had asked the question "So if Obama broke his commitment to the American people on public financing of his campaign, how long will it take him to break his commitment to a 95% tax cut for all Americans?"

That would have been nice to hear from Ms. Brown.

Barack Obama is a socialist and he plans on taking the US down the socialistic path.

Barack Obama is a socialist and he plans on taking the US down the socialistic path.

Most folks would immediately dismiss this as just some sort of name calling stunt. In fact, I was just outside at our company’s roach coach service, the owner had his radio on, and there was a horrified woman doing an interview who exclaimed, “They are calling Barack Obama a socialist!”

Well, ma’am, Barack Obama is a socialist.

Let us ignore for a small moment Barack Obama’s own socialist words and just focus on the policies that he and his Democrat buddies are currently espousing:

Government run health care for everyone!

I know the Obama camp is desperately attempting to tell people the plan is not really government run. If the government is involved and paying for it, then it is government run. It does not matter how many different ways you attempt to spin this, the government will write the legislation, the government will make the decision of what is covered and what is not, the government will decide who pays for it and who gets it for free, the government will even decide what procedures are allowed and which are not.

Ladies and Gentlemen: this is government run health care!

Can you imagine for a moment a program that takes the power over your life and your personal health care out of your hands and places it into the hands of the government?

Your very life depends on the government and what they deem to be necessary and proper for your own health care needs.

There is no better way to take away your freedom than to take away your power over your own life.

Ladies and Gentlemen: Barack Obama’s health care plan is a perfect example of socialism. Your very life depends on him.

Another example of socialism:

The so-called “Fairness Doctrine” that the Democrats want so desperately to get passed is another form of socialism. The Barack Obama government with the support of the Democrat controlled House and Senate want to be able to dictate what can be said on the radio and what cannot be said.

Freedom of speech just took a big hit. The government will decide if what is being said on the radio is fair or not fair.

As we already know, Barack Obama’s campaign was furious with a couple of different TV because the difficult questions were given to them and they have since cut those TV stations off of access to the candidate’s campaign.

Let me ask you, how much would you have hooted and howled about this taking place in a country like Cuba? The great leader doesn’t like the questions he gets, so he cuts them off. The Fairness Doctrine being pushed by the Democrats will give them the power to shut down the type of speech they do not like.

Yet another example of socialism:

Taxes

Barack Obama has promised tax increases to only the very rich. One of the ways socialism works is by pitting person on person. So and so has more than I do and I want it. Pitting neighbor on neighbor. But don’t worry, Obama will take from them and give it to you. What happens then when someone complains about you? Will he take from you and give it to someone else? After all, he has to take your wealth now and redistribute it to someone else. It is only fair!

This is socialism, continually taking from one person and giving to another and the government would decide who gets what and when they will get it.

Now you take these few simple examples of socialism and put them together with Barack Obama’s words:

Fox news-

"It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too," Obama responded. "My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

An audio from 2001 (via hot air)where Barack Obama calls it a tragedy that the civil rights movement and the Supreme Court did not address “redistribution of wealth”.

Fox News has also discovered quite a few insights from the books that Barack Obama has written:

But Obama himself acknowledges that he was drawn to socialists and even Marxists
as a college student. He continued to associate with Marxists later in life,
even choosing to launch his political career in the living room of a
self-described Marxist, William Ayers, in 1995, when Obama was 34. Obama's
affinity for Marxists began when he attended Occidental College in Los
Angeles.

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends
carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams
From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign
students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

After seeing the policies that Obama has not only pushing right now, the writings from his own books and hearing the words that he himself has spoken…

Ask yourself, is Barack Obama a socialist?

Well, of course he is. Obama is attempting to hide this, but the house of cards is beginning to collapse. Perhaps all of the radical friends of his were a bigger influence than the mainstream media is telling us about.

More and more and even more...

Even CBS is reporting that Barack Obama has been bought and paid for by Wall Street

Barack broke his pledge to America, just to buy an election.

Barack Obama says "US Constitution is Flawed"

Yes- I have head the other radio interview about "wealth redistribution". I will have to comment on that one later.

In the mean time, this little gem has popped up. Barack Obama in his own words "US Constitution reflected fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day".

Seriously, do we really want this guy as our President????

Well, the socialist/marxist is just so gosh darn handsome and speaks so calmly about his socialist views- how can you not vote for him?

Hair plugs and botox

Yes, I have heard the debate rage for a couple of days about the $150,000 spent by the RNC for Sarah Palin.

My first thought when I heard this is "Wow, she looks pretty good." That was until I saw the hysterics out of the left and couple of folks on the right.

Now I am wondering why these same folks do not seem to care about Senator Hair Plugs and Botox.

I mean seriously folks, you want to compare????

Do you really want to compare how Governor Palin looks with her pretty and expensive dresses to Senator Biden and his hair plugs and botox???

I agree with Barack Obama

Yesterday, Barack Obama attempted to explain away his own vice presidential candidates statements questioning his readiness for the presidency by calling them "rhetorical flourishes".

They are "rhetorical flourishes", just the the entire Barack Obama campaign.

Nothing more than rhetorical flourishes. Obama spouts some flowery languages and the media oohs and ahhs.

But really, what does Obama really say?

Don't believe me?

Name one single thing Barack Obama has ever accomplished politically.

Just name one thing.

Now before you liberals start ranting about Sarah Palin, she has $40 billion pipeline deal that had been log jammed for over 20 years.

Just name one single thing.

See...

You got nothing either.

The entire Barack Obama campaign, along with is bumbling running mate have nothing but rhetorical flourishes.

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Could someone please explain the polls?

Okay- if you are a numbers watcher like me, you are riding a roller coaster of polling data.

Just yesterday, a new poll came out showing Obama up by 14. Also yesterday, another poll showed Obama up by 1(today the poll shows it at 2).

That 13 point difference represents millions of voters.

Today- one poll shows Obama up by 10 another shows them as Obama by 1.

Seriously, what is up with this junk? I have never seen such huge disparity in the polling data.

It has never been as bad as it is right now.

This entire year has been bad.

Remember Hillary was down by 7 in Ohio the day before the election and won by 10. Hillary was up by 3 in West Virginia the day before the election and won by 25! Hillary was down by 9 in New Hampshire and won by 7 in New Hampshire.

The poll numbers are way off. I don't have any clue as to why.

I am done with polls. Don't tell me it is over for McCain, because I am not buying it. Sarah and I will drag McCain across the finishing line if we must. I know there is no give up in that woman either.

Nobody knows what will happen.

CNN laughs at their own bias

I thought this interview was very revealing.

When Drew Griffin at CNN was challenged by Sarah Palin, "You guys would have clobbered me", if she had made the statement that Joe Biden had made, Griffin could not even muster a denial.

Instead Griffen laughs and agrees with Palin that she would have been clobbered for stating that if Barack Obama is elected President, America would be faced with an international crisis.

How totally pathetic. Never in American history has the media or the Democrats ever nominated a person that is so untested, unethical and unqualified as Barack Obama.

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Palin names possible Barack International crisis

Since Biden mentioned four or five possible international crisis problems that Barack Obama would have to face, Sarah Palin decided to name them.

Palin would have been slaughtered

When Dan Rather actually admits that if Sarah Palin had said this, the newspapers would have destroyed her and the McCain campaign.

But because it was Joe Biden promising that the "Great One" Barack Obama would have to face an international crisis, then it is no big deal:

Monday, October 20, 2008

Barack Obama = International Crisis

Don't blame me I did not say it!

According to Joe Biden, Senator Obama's running mate, if you vote for Barack Obama and he wins, America will be tested by some type of international crisis in the first 6 months.

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

And Governor Palin is the idiot????

I bet this makes everyone want to vote for the inexperienced guy, huh?

We know John McCain's mettle. It has been tested over and over again.

Elitist Snob Barack Obama mocks Joe the Plumber

Snob Barack Obama, his elitist media thugs, his mush for brains running mate, and the mocking masses that follow the Messiah, have set out to destroy Joe, the plumber.

How dare Joe the plumber question the Messiah and make the Messiah look like a socialist/Marxist wrapped is a fancy tie and an empty suit?

As his elitist media thugs record his wise words, Barack Obama questions, “How many plumbers do you know making a quarter of a million dollars a year?” The fawning Obama crowd roars with laughter.

In the meantime, the media elitists are destroying everything they can about Joe the Plumber. Joe doesn’t have the proper license. Joe owes back taxes. Joe is a Republican plant.

This much we do know about Joe. Joe is one of us and like the rest of us, Barack Obama and his idiot running mate will make sure the Joe and me will never reach the American dream.

You see, socialist/Marxist do not believe in the American dream. They don’t believe in setting a goal, working hard to accomplish that goal and then enjoying the fruits of your labor or sharing it with your family and friends.

Instead, what socialists/Marxists like Barack Obama believe is that the moment you finally achieve the American dream, it is their duty to steal that dream from the common American and spreading your hard earned dollar to a bunch of people that did not earn it.

Don’t let the American dream die! Fight Socialism! Fight Marxism! Fight elitism!

Don’t let Barack Obama or anyone else steal YOUR DREAMS, JOE!!!!

John McCain: Messiah is above my paygrade

Even though these things are not meant to be a competition, you have to admit- John McCain was on fire last night.

I was dying laughing.

That bit about "Maverick I can do, but Messiah is above my paygrade" was an absolute riot.

Double click to enlarge flyer

You are right, Joe

New video-

Joe is right, Obama's tax ideas are socialism

Joe, the plumber

Don't know who Joe, the plumber is?

That is because the media did not bother to tell you about him over the last several days. The only way to learn of Joe the plumber and his confrontation with Barack Obama was though the internet.

Barack Obama is a socialist. He admitted his socialist ideas with Joe the plumber. Barack Obama then admitted it again last night.

Barack Obama will take Joe, the plumber's money and your money and give it to someone else.

He said so. He plans on taking your money and giving it to someone else- spread the wealth around.

Real Debate Wisconsin: Racine schools hand out textbook with 15 page Obama love-fest...

I am not even sure what to say to this.

Brand new school books promoting Barack Obama.

I wonder how the FEC will look at this?

Is it a campaign contribution paid for by our tax dollars?

Good job, Fred.

It has now hit Michelle Malkin's page.

Palin: Pro God and Pro Life

Now she has gone and done it. Sarah Palin actually gave a speech on her pro-life and pro-God beliefs.

That probably set the liberals heads spinning.

Worse yet, she blasted Barack Obama's extremist views on the subject.

Now, whether you are pro-life or pro-choice, it is hard not to view Barack Obama's beliefs as some of the most extreme in the pro choice movement.

On three separate occasions, Obama refused to stand against infanticide. That is extreme. Even the most liberal of all US Senators voted to protect the rights of children born during botched abortions.

Now, some would argue that it is not really infanticide if you stuff a child from a botched abortion if you simple ignore a child born during a botched abortion until it dies.

I beg to differ. Infanticide is the practice of killing newborn babies. that is precisely what was happening that Barack Obama refused to try and stop.

Zamba's Ugly Smear Campaign

Candidate Larry Zamba is blaming Republicans for destroying yard signs. I would like to know what proof does Mr. Zamba have that Republicans are removing his signs.

His crying even got him on the news and in the Kenosha News. Pretty good free press for Mr. Zamba, maybe this is an inside job for free political advertising and a way to increase campaign contributions.

The statements by Zamba supporters are pretty nasty, and they're not just about Republicans. They are about the residents of the 66th Assembly District who support Samantha Kerkman (and not all of them are Republicans).

Here are a few quotes from area liberal blogs:

Kerkman’s supporters have now demonstrated beyond doubt what scumbag traitors to America and her democracy that they are! This shows them for what they are!, small minded, fearful, violent and criminal!

I have a idea when win we will give all the Zamba signs to Kerkman so she can burn them as here self in Hell.

Take a look at Kerkman's facebook page - it'll give you an idea of the type of voter she attracts (the term "redneck" comes to mind).

To quote Mr. Zamba:
One fellow likened their tactics to the brown shirts of Hitlers day.

Mr. Zamba is not the person we want representing us (renecks) in Madison. Thank you Samantha Kerkman for representing the values most (obviously not all from the above quotes) of your constituents have.

Brilliant plan, Senator Obama???

Barack Obama is suggesting a 3 month moratorium on home foreclosures.

Brilliant plan, Senator. It is much better to toss folks out of their homes in January, the middle of dead cold winter, instead of tossing people out of their homes right now. Those folks living in battleground states like Wisconsin, Minnesota or Michigan are going to love living in the outdoor winter weather.

Good grief.

Perhaps we could figure out a way of renegotiating their loans instead of tossing them out in the middle of January. I know that is John McCain's plan, but that certainly sounds better to me.

Of course, you can just swipe the money out your retirement account early without any penalty, sending the Dow plunging even further.

Or perhaps he can give a tax credit to all of the small businesses that hire folks, but then immediately take the money back with his tax increases of these same small business owners making $250,000 a year.

Oh yeah, simply brilliant, Senator. Simply brilliant.

Is it over?

The media would have you believe that the presidential race is over.

Last week, polls began to show a double-digit lead for Barack Obama.

Am I worried?

Absolutely not!

I am here on the grassroots level ever-single day, talking to hundreds of people a week.

We got game, folks, now is the time to get it moving!

I have to tell you, with all of these poll numbers looking so negative; I have never seen this type of enthusiasm in Kenosha County.

Never!

I was involved in the 2004. What used to be considered the gold standard for grassroots volunteers will be surpassed this year in Kenosha County.

Yes, folks are frustrated with Senator McCain, praying that he would stop reaching across the aisle. The other side of the aisle has already proven with this ACORN mess, that they are willing to steal this election. Why in heaven’s name would the Senator continue to try and reach across the aisle. We do not want to be associated with these types of folks on the other side of the aisle.

Still, this battle will be won on the ground.

As I said before, we got game. (Yes, the media is also trying to discourage the ground game by pumping up Barack Obama’s ground game numbers. Don’t believe it.)

This past weekend, our offices were once again jammed full of people. Dozens of doorknockers swept though Kenosha. Armed with yard signs and a positive message, they had a great time talking to folks. They delivered hundreds of yard signs and hundreds of flyers.

I was especially thrilled to meet a bunch of folks from Illinois. Many were up for the weekend to see what they could do to help. We are thrilled to have them.

Especially thrilling was a gentleman I met from Illinois. He was one of the folks wearing a “Democrats for McCain” t-shirt. As I got to talk to him, he told me how hard he had worked for Hillary Clinton. As it turns out, the nice fellow just so happened to be the head of Hillary Clinton’s campaign in Illinois.

Now he is working his tail off, pounding doors in Kenosha County to help John McCain and Sarah Palin.

We could not be more thrilled to have him and his many friends and former Hillary supporters.

One of the pieces of advice he gave while he was here was for people to ignore the poll numbers. In many instance, the Barack loving media made every attempt to depress votes by over stating poll numbers in favor of Barack Obama.

This happened in many instances in Hillary Clinton’s race against Barack Obama.

Remember Ohio?
Clinton was down in the polls by 7 points on the day preceding the Ohio primary. She won by 10 points in Ohio.

If any of her campaign volunteers or her voters has bought into these polls, there is a chance they would have been so discouraged they would have stayed home.

To be totally honest, I have a lot of policy problems with Hillary Clinton. In normal circumstances, myself and may of the Hillary supporters would be on the opposite side of most issues.

However, there is something during this election that Hillary supporters have in common with McCain/Palin supporters:

We have all been railroaded and lied to by the Barack loving supporters and Barack loving media.

These folks have proven that they are willing to lie, cheat and steal an election and the media are not only trying to desperately hide the problem, they also making excuses for the lying, cheating and stealing.

How is it possible that anyone, whether Republican, Democrat or independent would approve of this ACORN debacle and then proceed to cover it up is a horrifyingly dishonest!

One of our basic constitutional rights as honest American citizens is the right to vote. That right is being stolen from us in a massively dishonest movement in support of a Barack Obama presidency.

Stolen!

The former Hillary supporters know exactly what we are all feeling today. Many of them faced the same ACORN stolen votes problem we are all challenged with today.

We may not have a ton in common with Hillary supporters, but we do share one common goal- Barack Obama should not be the next President of the United States.

So, it is time to get fired up.

If you are interested in fighting the socialism that Barack Obama has promised to deliver to America, join us.

The Kenosha GOP Victory Center is located at 5901 75th Street. Across the street from the Pick n Save on Hwy 50. In the strip mall, right next to the Speedway gas station.

We are open from 9am to 9pm every single day. Even if you only have an hour a week- we can use your help.

So, no this election is not over. Not by a long shot.

McCain/Palin town hall

I have received a ton of calls, emails and text messages. I was at the McCain Palin townhall yesterday. I had great seats. As a result, I was all over the national news:

As you can see, I am not nearly as angry as this fellow.

I am still trying to figure out how getting mad solves any of the issues that this fellow is talking about.

Yes- we are becoming a socialist society. Yes, Barack Obama is the most liberal senator to ever be nominated for President.

Governor Palin is doing her part, we need McCain to start doing his part.

My question is- are you doing your part?

They have the Manchurian candidate running for office. Propped up for years by shady characters keeping his campaigns flush with money. In return, Senator Obama has lined their pockets with taxpayer funds. Everything from directing earmarks to his radical church, to the radical Ayers group, to Tony Rezko, to his wife's friends, to ACORN ... every direction you turn, Obama has been pushing taxpayer dollars at them.

So- are you doing your part to expose these shady dealings?

We all know the media is not doing their job.

Dullest debate ever?

I gotta say, that was probably one of the dullest debates ever.

I mean ever.

I know the political punditry will say over and over again that Obama won because McCain did not provide a knockout punch.

Oh please!

Have you ever seen one of the George Bush debates?

He lost every debate he was ever in and still managed win the election for President twice. (Yes, twice)

John Kerry wiped the floor with Bush and it meant nothing.

I did see something I did not plan on seeing, despite the media total ignorance on the issue.

Even though McCain had a couple of gaffes, like the Warren Buffet thing and the bailout of American homeowners- there were no real stingers. Yes, the Main Street wants to hear that they will get some help, not just the Wall Streeters. I know the Michelle Malkin types are probably screaming, but that is just politics. Despite popular belief, the bailout plan was not $700 billion immediately, it was for $350 billion. In order to get the other $350 billion, it would take another act of Congress. I was a little curious what Congress and now John McCain plan on doing with the other $350 billion that is not really approved yet. Apparently John McCain has joined the Mike Huckabee populist plan- tell them what they want to hear.

The Buffet thing was just strange.

Still- no major gaffes from McCain.

However, despite the media's insistance, Barack Obama did have some major gaffes.

Politics 101- you never ever never ever never ever tell any single person that the major concerns in their lives are not your most important concerns.

The moment Barack Obama started prioritizing energy, health care and entitlements, is one of the most major gaffes I have ever seen. Yet the media has not picked up on it yet.

Imagine telling the senior citizen that their concerns over social security are not your top priority. Or perhaps you are telling sick little Timmy's family that health care is not at the top of your priority list.

Even though the candidates were asked to list their priorities, McCain did not fall into that trap and told of the importance of all of them.

Why would a single senior citizen vote for Obama now that they know that they are not at the top of Obama's list????

What has Obama told us, it will take 10 years for energy independence????

Oh goody, the senior citizens and the sick and poor will just have to wait until Barack is done fixing the energy crisis first. (Also, Obama did mention "education" as his number three priority. Not only were they not asked about education, but now the teachers have got to be spinning their heads this morning. Imagine being number three behind the oil companies and the insurance/health care industry) Uh! Oh!!! Yikes!!!!

Obama also made some other major gaffes, such as his answer on defending Israel:

Question:

If, despite your best diplomatic efforts, Iran attacks Israel, would you be willing to commit U.S. troops in support and defense of Israel? Or would you wait on approval from the U.N. Security Council?

Still waiting for a yes or no from Obama on this one.

Obama:

And so it's unacceptable. And I will do everything that's required to prevent it.

And we will never take military options off the table. And it is important that we don't provide veto power to the United Nations or anyone else in acting in our interests.

It is important, though, for us to use all the tools at our disposal to prevent the scenario where we've got to make those kinds of choices.

Obama talks of preventing a attack on Israel, and saying that he won't take any options off the table, but that still did not answer the question.

Yes or no????? I bet their are a few Jewish folks out there that would like an answer.

There is plenty of fodder in Obama's answers to give every American pause. The question is, did Americans stay awake long enough to hear all of Barack's vague answers???

I have learned a little something over the last several months since being elected to office:

1. Sometimes you vote for things, you do not want to vote for

2. Sometimes you vote for things that your constituents do not want you to vote for

Lastly, you do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do.

The idea of letting the entire economy collapse, because of another opinion piece by Michelle Malkin or any other conservative, is pathetically irresponsible.

Worse yet, to invoke the name of President Ronald Reagan and bluster about principles, as if President Reagan would have allowed the economy to collapse either.(Yes, Ronald Reagan gave amnesty to illegal immigrants also) He was just a man, folks. A good man, but still a man.

This past week, I have watched a couple of conservatives, claiming they espoused Ronald Reagan principles, who sought out the quickest and fastest way to collapse their own country's economy.

In the meantime, these Michelle Malkin types spent the week beating up on Congressman Paul Ryan, who stood in the camp of the enemy attempting to negotiate something that both sides could live with.

Now, I like Michelle Malkin and read her daily, but seriously, she is a financial expert now????

The idea that Congressman Paul Ryan(and John McCain too) was willing to take the political hit to try and fight for American jobs and the American economy, knowing what truly faces Americans under the alternate plan of doing nothing, was courageous. Most politicians do not have that kind of political courage.

More may still need to be done protect American jobs, we will have to see.

In the meantime, no reform of the badly broken system has been proposed by either the Republicans or Democrats.

None.

We cannot go back to the way it was. Free money for everyone.

For a truly responsible respectable society to grow out of this financial mess we must be willing to reform the credit system.

The question is- who has the courage to reform the system? Who is willing to stand up to Freddie and Fannie?

That is the type of candidate I am looking for in a President and from my congressman.

I am certain Congressman Paul Ryan will be at the forefront of reforming this credit mess.

I would like to see John McCain and Sarah Palin take a reform stance on this issue also.

For more on real leadership, read this article.

A parody- Sarah Biden

I know the media have already written their copy for tomorrow morning. Sarah Palin has already lost the debate.

That being said- I got a kick out this article from Victor Davis Hanson.

The person being virtually ignored in this election is Joe Biden. He can say whatever he wants and no one is paying attention.

Before getting offended, pay very close attention...

Journalists continue to ask, “What was John McCain thinking in selecting the gaffe-prone Gov. Sarah Palin?”

In what has now become a disturbing pattern, the Alaska governor seems either unable or unwilling to avoid embarrassing statements that are often as untrue as they are outrageous. Recently, for example, in an exclusive interview with news anchor Katie Couric, Palin gushed, “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’ ” Apparently the former Alaskan beauty queen failed to realize that in 1929 there was neither widespread television nor was Franklin Roosevelt even President.

Sometimes the Idaho-native Palin seems to confuse and embarrass her own running mate. Shortly after her nomination, she introduced a “John McAmerica;” then she referred to the Republican ticket as the “Palin-McCain administration;” and finished by calling Sen. Obama, “Senator George Obama.” The Palin gaffes seem to be endless: on her way to Washington to meet the national press corps, Palin, the mother of five, once again stumbled — this time characterizing Senator Biden as “Congressman Joe Biden,” who, she chuckled, was “good looking.”

But then Palin only compounded that growing image of shallowness when introducing her own snow-mobiling husband Todd, “as drop-dead gorgeous!” And when asked about the controversial McCain ad suggesting that Barack Obama had introduced explicit sex education classes to pre-teenagers, the Christian fundamentalist Palin scoffed that it was “terrible” and that she would have never had allowed such an unfair clip to run — before retracting that apology under pressure from the now exasperated McCain campaign staff. But then, according to press reports, wild Sarah only made things worse still by announcing that paying higher taxes was the “patriotic” thing for Americans to do.

This week, the gun-owning, moose-hunting Palin also promised blue-collar Virginians that she would protect their firearm rights — even, if need be, from her own running-mate: “I guarantee you, John McCain ain’t taking my shotguns, so don’t buy that malarkey. Don’t buy that malarkey. They’re going to start peddling that to you. I got two. If he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem. I like that little over and under, you know? I’m not bad with it. So give me a break. Give me a break.”

Palin may have had some experience in Alaskan politics, but at times the former small-town mayor seems unaware of the pressures of running a national campaign in a diverse society. For example, Palin — who has had past associations with reactionary groups — caused a storm earlier when she characterized Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama in seemingly racialist terms: “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” Such stereotyping suggested that the Alaskan was not aware of the multiracial nature of American politics — an impression confirmed when in her earlier gubernatorial run, she had once suggested that to enter a donut shop was synonymous with meeting an Indian immigrant.

Now I have heard all

I had stayed out of the debate over the debate rage and Gwen Ifil's clear conflict of interest.

I figured it does not do any good to complain, because the liberals will get their way in spite of the clear conflict of interest.

Can you imagine if Sean Hannity was moderating tomorrow night's debate? Just imagine how ballistic the liberals would go- and I do not blame them.

I had stayed out of it until I read this garbage on Yahoo News.

The idea that this woman could in any way stay impartial is ridiculous.

"I've got a pretty long track record covering politics and news, so I'm not particularly worried that one-day blog chatter is going to destroy my reputation," Ifill said. "The proof is in the pudding. They can watch the debate tomorrow night and make their own decisions about whether or not I've done my job."

All you have to do is read the title of the book to know where Ms. Ifil's loyalty stands "The Breakthrough- Politics and Race in the Age of Obama"

The "Age of Obama"- give me a break.

Sarah Palin's job tomorrow night is to pound on Barack Obama. As the vice presidential candidate, that is what is expected of her to do. Can you imagine Ms. Ifil's consternation?

Ms. Ifil should never have applied for this job. The Debate Committee should have never approved this.

The liberal left media would never have tolerated Sean Hannity and this should not be tolerated either.

The only people who can get this stopped right now is the media making a tremendous fuss and we know they are also in the Obama camp- so that is not going to happen. Right on queue the liberal media are already defending themselves.

You should have listened to House Republicans last week

It appears that a bailout bill is finally going to pass in the Senate tonight. My guess is that there will be some more gamemanship tomorrow in the House, but it will pass there also.

Amazingly, it is the House Republican plan that was originally being pushed last Thursday/Friday that seems to have made the difference.

Instead of trying to figure out a way to make a reasonable bailout plan work, way too many conservatives and liberals spent way too much time trying to kill a plan.

Luckily, last week, the House Republicans realized the absolute crisis facing this country and put together a plan that would not only save the credit market, so you can continue to use your credit cards, but it appears that the new new plan will look very much like the plan the Senate will be passing tonight.

Last week, our own Congressman Paul Ryan with Rep. Cantor proposed a plan that would allow banks to buy into a insurance plan for shaky, but not yet defaulted loans. It was adopted and included in the last bailout plan that failed on Monday.

The latest:

The bailout plan from Monday will now include the increases in the FDIC caps, requested last week by House Republicans that was dismissed by the Pelosi and company. Yesterday, both McCain and Obama called for these increases. (BTW, to those folks who think Obama or McCain came up with this brilliant plan themselves just need to check last weeks records and see that the House Republicans were way out in front of this)

Also included in the new new plan are tax breaks, suggested last week by House Republicans. These tax breaks will get shaky investors and middle class Americans off the sidelines and get them back into the market again.

Even yesterday morning, after the failure of the first bailout plan, Congressman Paul Ryan on Jay Weber’s show was again calling for the bailout plan to include higher FDIC limits, a “mark to market” suspension and tax incentives to get investors off the sidelines.

Whether the Democrats want to believe it or not, it was not until John McCain showed up in Washington that the House Republicans could even get anyone to listen to their plan. The House Republicans had been shut out until John McCain showed up.

Of course, last week, Nancy Pelosi and the screeching Democrats began screaming that McCain and the House Republicans blew up the plan.

Now it looks like the Senate will adopt the majority of the House Republicans plan tonight.

Senate leaders scheduled a Wednesday vote on a $700 billion financial bailout
package after accepting tax breaks and a higher limit for insured bank deposits
in a bid to win House approval and send legislation to President Bush by the end
of the week.

Thank you, John McCain for getting the House Republicans the attention they deserve. Yes, you took a beating for it. Country first.

I could not be happier for my congressman, Paul Ryan, who did the grown up thing. Instead of worrying about his political career, he worried about his country first. Someone had to put their partisan politics aside and work with the Democrats to not only get a plan that works, but protects the taxpayer. Congressman Ryan did all of this despite the fact that he is running in his own partisan race for office, even while he was getting beat up by conservatives and liberals alike.

PS. To the partisan Democrats in the first district who scheduled a debate between Paul Ryan and his opponent, in the midst of this storm, knowing that the congressman would not be able to go to the debate- that was pretty tacky. Grow up!
