This is going to be a fun year

There is already a couple of years worth of scandal surrounding Barack Obama.

2009 is going to be a fun year.

By the way, you think the newly selected senator from the "Land of Drinkin, I mean Lincoln" is totally clean when it comes to the "buying the seat" stuff, you might want to check this out. There is certainly enough cash flowing between Burris and Blago to raise a few eyebrows:

Burris, his lobbying firm, his clients and a law firm that includes him donated $127,986 to Blagojevich since the governor took office. Burris himself gave $4,500 to the governor, including $1,000 last June. His lobbying firm, Burris & Lebed Consulting, gave $10,796 in cash and services. The law firm with which Burris is affiliated kicked in $5,000 for the governor. Burris' consulting firm has gotten $294,546.30 in state contracts under Blagojevich.

Burris' lobbying clients -- which were under contract with the state for $3.09 million while he represented them -- contributed $107,690 for the governor.

Oh yeah, tons of money floating back and forth!

I gotta get going or I am going to be late.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Just call them the Aristocrat party

Interesting article today in the Wall Street Journal.

You thought I was just goofing around when I called the Democrats the new party of Aristocrats.

Seems like the Aristocrats are playing there snobby politics all over the country.

The Wall Street Journal is calling them a Dynasty

So to recap all of this change you can believe in: A Kennedy and Cuomo are competing to succeed a Clinton in New York; the skids are greased for a Biden to replace a Biden in Delaware; one Salazar might replace another in Colorado; and a Governor charged with political corruption in Illinois wants one of his cronies to succeed the President-elect. Let's just say we're looking forward to 2009.

Long live the Prince Elect Barack Obama...or whatever it is we are supposed to say to the newly selected Aristocrats.

We all know what happens when you cross or question the Prince Elect Barack Obama. Just ask Sarah Palin or Joe the Plumber, they can tell you.

Kenosha Pints and Politics: Judge Randy Koschnick for Justice

You didn't think that just because the presidential election was over meant all politics stopped, right?

The next election cycle has already begun.

Judge Randy Koschnick is running for the Wisconsin Supreme Court against Chief Justice Shirley "super liberal" Abrahamson.

I know the liberals are already boo hooing about money in politics and that there should be public financing only for these races.

Well, my answer to that is........ see Barack Obama and find out what he did concerning public financing.

The Kenosha County GOP Pints and Politics will be hosting Judge Randy Koschnick.

Come and see Judge Randy Koschnick speak on Thursday night in Kenosha at Pints and Politics. We meet at the Birchwood Grill at 7:00pm, across the street from the Brat Stop. The Birchwood Grill is located at 7515 125th Ave.

“The role of a justice is to apply the law; not make it. I pledge to not legislate from the bench."
~Judge Randy Koschnick

See you there.

How True

H/T Grouchy Old Cripple

Grab a barrel of popcorn, this is getting good

After Blago's appointment yesterday, the drama taking place down in Illinois is getting good. There are some benefits to working in one state(Illinois) and living in another(Wisconsin). You can get in on the gossip in both states.

Blago could barely contain his excitement, he knows he pissed off the Dems. Be honest folks, Blago literally bounced up to the podium to announce his pick.

Yesterday's announcement was topped off by Bobby Rush race baiting and proclaiming that this seat has to go to a black man.

This pick and the race baiting that went along with it makes it next to impossible to not seat this guy. The Illinois Democrats and the US Senate Democrats have now been struck by the race card that they have played so often against the Republicans.

The Democrats are now stuck between someone playing the race card and corruption. No matter what happens, Blago makes them all look bad.

What are you going to do? Deny this black man this seat?

I thought Obama was supposed to bridge the racial divide, now he is stuck in the middle of it. The Hill makes note of this.

Last night we were told that the Jesse White, the Illinois Secretary of State, a African-American Democrat, would refuse to sign off on the Burris appointment. Then we found out later last night that it really does not matter that Jesse White signs off on the appointment, it is still legal.

Then we move on to this morning when we find out that Roland Burris is doing some race baiting of his own:

In an interview Wednesday, Burris didn't back away from Rush's assertion. "It is a fact, there are no African-Americans in the United States Senate," he said on NBC's "Today." "Is it racism that is taking place? That's a question that someone may raise."

I wonder who that someone might be????

Also this morning we find out that Burris was not the first African-American asked to fill this position:

Rep. Danny K. Davis (D-Ill.) would like to replace President-elect Barack Obama in the Senate. The appointment was dangled before him last Wednesday. He turned it down. We discussed why when we talked Tuesday night, hours after a defiant Gov. Blagojevich, facing impeachment for, among other charges, trying to sell the Obama seat, tapped former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris for the spot, touching off a racially inflammatory firestorm.

As America watches this massive game of racial politics, Republicans are wondering why Obama has a statement for this mess, but refuses to address the war taking place in the Gaza Strip.

Now that is leadership for you!

So are you guys keeping up? Is this the change you were looking for?

Don't call them Democrats, just call them Aristocrats

I have held my tongue throughout this entire Caroline Kennedy debate. The last thing in the world I wanted to do what criticize Kennedy.

I did not think that is was right to Palinize her after everything Sarah Palin has been through in the last 4 months. Anyone, no matter who they are, does not deserve that type of treatment from anyone for any reason.

I still have no intention of criticizing her. In fact, I hope she gets the nod to be the next US Senator from the state of New York. What would be more fitting? She is a Kennedy, she is entitled. She is replacing another woman who was also entitled, Hillary Clinton.

But after reading this joke of an article from the Washington Post, I could stay silent no longer. Seriously, how many Americans have anything in common with Caroline Kennedy?

Amid all the recent buzz about Caroline Kennedy's bid for a U.S. Senate seat, there has been a great deal of talk about her connections, her power, her wealth. But the way I see it, if you strip away the glamour, the name and the money, then Caroline is . . . me. And many of my friends. Maybe even you. If, that is, you happen to be a midlife woman raising kids and returning -- or thinking of returning, or hoping one day to return -- to the full-time workforce.

It has been made very clear to most Americans that the Democrats are entitled to anything they want. And boy will they ever whine if they do not get it. Just ask President Bush about the whining stuff, I am certain he will tell you.

Entitlement has become such the rage on the Democrat side of the aisle that it seems completely senseless to even call them Democrats anymore.

Just call them Aristocrats.

The entitlement mentality starts at the very top of the Aristocrat party and then follows its way down the line.

Start with Barack Obama, the next president of the United States. Obama has not worked for a single thing in his life. It has all been handed to him. For example, his Harvard and Columbia education is the best education that money could buy. Only Obama did not pay for it or work for it, we did. Taxpayers paid for his education through affirmative action. What do you believe that type of education costs? Half a million dollars? I would say at least that much.

From there, Obama entire political career has been built around his high profile associations. For example, Reverend Wright that pulled Obama in tight with the African American community. Bill Ayers launched his political career out of his home. Head of the State Senate Emil Jones, who was literally passing legislation to Obama to have him put his name at the top to advance his career. Tony Rezko, who created Obama’s high roller donor base that exists today. Rod Blagojevich, who connected Obama with all of the high profile Democrat leaders in the state, not only when Rod was a Congressman, but even after Blago became governor.

Barack Obama’s life may have started middle class, but Obama quickly took on the look of an Aristocrat and has not looked back since.

Caroline Kennedy like the rest of the Aristocrats, honestly believes that she is entitled to the job. I know that she denies that she is entitled, but when asked about qualifications she simply answered that she stands for the values of the Democrat party.
""I'm really coming into this as somebody who isn't, you know, part of the system, who obviously, you know, stands for the values of, you know, the Democratic Party," Kennedy told the Daily News in one of the interviews that the daughter of President John F. Kennedy conducted with the media over the weekend.

Okey dokey. The mere fact that she is even asking for this job means that she feels entitled to it.

Moving on…

Right here on the local level of government, we see our own Aristocrats. Think back just a few months ago, when Kenosha had the choice of Democrats in the primary for State Assembly. The day before nomination papers are due in to the state, Peter Barca, the Aristocrat, decided that he wanted the job. Now why would anyone want to be a state assembly person, when they were previously a US congressman? Who knows?

The reality was that the Aristocrat entered the race for State Assembly virtually killing any chance for the two other candidates.

Peter Barca has been sitting in his office for the last 14 years, chilling with his high profile friends, like the mayor of Milwaukee. Jim Huff, one of his opponents, the working class guy, was out pounding the streets of Kenosha as a police officer. The man put his life of the line every single day.

In a 24 hour period, the Aristocrat (Barca) decided that he wanted the job and destroyed the working class (Huff) man’s chances. Barca could simple out raise Huff by at least a three to one margin.

The idea that the Democrat Party stands for the working man is an absolute joke. This is just not true.

Aristocrats are only interested in the people that can advance their careers, shell out the big bucks and the power a title brings.

Do you think Obama has any clue on how to be a president?

There is no way possible, he has never lead anything at any time of his life.

But he sure has that title now, doesn’t he?

Barack Obama is the head Aristocrat and the rest of the party is just tripping along behind him.

So why shouldn’t Caroline Kennedy feel entitled to the job, the rest of the Aristocrats feel entitled also. They know the people, they have the money, plus they will stamp their feet and whine for years if the do not get their way.

Blago to name Obama replacement today

Gov. Blago plans on naming Roland Burris, another Blago and Chicago machine insider, to Barack Obama's senate seat.
Blago is apparently going to ignore the warnings by the US Senate and the Illinois State legislature and is going to name Obama's successor anyway.

Even if he is seated by the US Senate to Obama's seat, Burris will be very beatable in the next election. First, he will be 73 years old by then. Second, he a lifelong politico and has been part of the Chicago machine for years. Third, anyone attached to Blago, which Burris is, will be in trouble in 2010
Burris is standing on the Governor's left.

Congrats, Grandma Palin

Congrats to the new parents Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston.

Also Congrats to Grandma and Grandpa Palin.

She does not look like a grandma...

Sure the circumstances were not ideal or how they would have planned it, but the end result is a beautiful gift from God for the family to love and enjoy.

Baby boy was born yesterday, 7 lbs 3 oz, name Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

You didn't expect them to name him "Joe", did you?

For those interested in having some fun, a liberal website set up a name generator, if you were a Palin child. Despite the liberalism, it is kind of fun...

Check it out. Just type in your name.

My Palin name is "Bang Walmart Palin". Okay, my name is not so cool, but maybe yours is...

What is your Palin name?

What is our Governor doing?

Is anyone paying attention to what Governor Jim Doyle is up to when it comes to financing the financial mess our state is currently in the midst of?

Yes, we do know that Governor Doyle was one of the first governors to go running to Barack Obama demanding a bailout.

But did you know Governor Doyle and a some of his fellow democrat governors are requesting $250 BILLION is bailout money for education?

That is right! $250 BILLION!

I was reading this story on the Ohio government beggars in the Washington Post and tripped over this:

Third, in search of a palatable pitch to a Congress and nation numbed by the parade of rescue packages, Strickland is teaming with a handful of other Democratic governors to seek a $250 billion infusion for education. The group includes Jennifer M. Granholm (Mich.), Jon S. Corzine (N.J.), David A. Paterson (N.Y.), Jim Doyle (Wis.) and Deval L. Patrick (Mass.).

Seriously, $250 billion?

Where are we as taxpayers going to get another $250 billion on top of Bush's $700 billion and Obama's $1 Trillion?

Does Barack Obama or a Rezko lawyer own the Obama home?

H/T Real Debate Wisconsin

This whole Rezko mess surrounding Barack Obama is getting very interesting. That should not be surprising since Patrick Fitzgerald handled the Rezko case and is now handling the Rod Blagojevich case.

According to World Net Daily, Barack Obama is not currently listed as the owner or the property tax payer for his home, at least according to Cook County records.

According to Cook County records, the Obama home is listed as being owned by William Micelli.

William Micelli is one of the Rezko attorneys working for Miner, Barnhill and Galland law firm. They were the attorneys that worked some of the illegal redevelopment deal for Tony Rezko.(now convicted)

Miner, Barnhill and Galland is the law firm that employed Barack Obama while Tony Rezko was bilking millions of dollars from taxpayers through the redevelopment projects.

I find it very strange that Barack Obama is not currently listed as the owner of his home.

This could just be a faulty records.

However, what is even more strange is that the Cook County Assessor's office has confirmed that the property tax bill for the Obama home is going to William Micelli, not Barack Obama or his mortgage company.

These are not just some unnamed sources making these claims. Normally I stay away from WND as a source of accurate information, but they are giving names this time.

Eric Herman, a spokesman for the Cook County assessor, confirmed to WND that the Treasurer's Office records were correct and that Miceli did receive the Obama property tax invoice by mail.

Once again, all of this could just be mistaken records and could have been easily corrected. The Obama home was purchased 3 years ago. You would think that by now, the records would have been corrected.

How much of this stuff is true or just mistaken records?

Does Barack Obama actually own his home or does Attorney William Micelli?

Who pays Barack Obama's property tax bill?

Why is Micelli refusing to answer questions?

Why is the Obama transition team refusing to answer questions?

Why is the Democrat Party refusing to answer questions?

Is it just a strange coincidence that the Tony Rezko garage continues to stink up Barack Obama's image?

What we do know is that the Tony Rezko case is not closed.

We do know that among many others, Tony Rezko bankrolled Barack Obama's political career for years.

Barack Obama did not bother to distance himself from Rezko until after he announced his run for presidency.

Rezko was already indicted when Obama purchased the 10 foot strip of Rezko land.

Yep-even a tiny bit of digging into Obama's past dealings produces all kinds of strange coincidences.

Palin 2009 #1 Calendar sold

Why am I not surprised?

A 2009 calendar focused on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is the top office product supply item being sold on Amazon.com, figures indicate.

Take that Jonas Brothers!

I got one. These are not your standard photos. These are a little different than what you see posted all over the internet. Sorry fellows, no bikini shots. ALL OF THOSE PHOTOS WERE FAKED ON THE INTERNET! Just in case you had not figured it out yet.

Go here, if you want one.

Painful stupidity

At least part of me hopes the stupidity of this particular RNC chair candidate, is painful.

Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan issued a statement Saturday distancing the party’s leadership from one of the GOP’s best-known operatives, Chip Saltsman, who distributed a CD containing “Barack the Magic Negro” as part of his campaign to be elected chairman of the Republican National Committee next month.

What was Chip Saltman thinking? What was Mike Duncan thinking by waiting so long to respond? Almost 24 hours???

It does not matter if the song is a parody. It does not matter whether or not you meant the song to be racist. It does not matter that the title to the song came from the LA Times. I don't care

None of that matters.

How could you not think that the MSM would turn this into the headline they turned it into?

All Americans are aware of today is that someone high up in the RNC, who wants to lead the RNC sent out a song called "Barack the Magic Negro" on a CD to RNC members.

Just as idiotic as sending out these CD's by Chip Saltsman is the reaction time of Mike Duncan by letting that headline rampage for almost 24 hours.

And oh by the way, Ken Blackwell is not helping his case for RNC chair by defending this garbage. I understand that he is attempting to help folks really understand what the song really meant, but let's hope he is not dumb enough to do this same thing if he becomes RNC chair.

Now, I have not decided who I plan on supporting (I am certain the candidates are waiting with bated breath), but this one is a no brainer. No Mike Duncan and no Chip Saltsman!

For more information on the candidates, here is a guide. Take the evaluations with a grain of salt. Do your own research on each candidate.

It is hard to understand this

The stunning massacre of a family in LA is too staggering to understand.

I mean the very first shot this guy fired was into a face of a 8 year old girl.

I just cannot get my head around this one.

Obama's fake internal investigation creates more questions

Good questions from Politico today...

Why did Obama confidante Valerie Jarrett communicate with Craig through her lawyer, whom the report does not name; how many conversations did incoming White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel have with Blagojevich; and why was Obama himself interviewed by prosecutors?

If Barack Obama is completely in the clear having never spoken to Blago about senate seat, why was the President- elect interviewed last week by the prosecutors?

Weeks ago we heard Obama had nothing to do with this personally, then why the need to interview him?

On a lighter note, after a thorough internal investigation, I have totally exonerated myself from "borrowing" my parents car when I was a teenager.

Like the Obama fawning media, I am certain my parents are completely relieved.

Obama team lied about contact with Blago

I guess we know who was lying now.

The Obama team.

Less than a week ago, the Obama camp denied Emanuel ever spoke to the governor about the senate seat.

A source with the Obama camp strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, saying Emanuel only spoke with Blagojevich once recently to say he was taking the chief of staff post.

Remember, they denied this even after the internal investigation was completed, but not yet released.

The newly released report from the hard hitting Obama internal investigation does indeed show that Rahm Emanuel did speak to Blago personally.

But we know now, Emanuel only spoke to the Governor directly once or twice. No biggie.

“Mr. Emanuel had one or two telephone calls with Gov. Blagojevich,” the report says. “Those conversations occurred between Nov. 6 and Nov. 8, 2008. Soon after he decided to accept the president-elect’s offer to serve as chief of staff in the White House, Mr. Emanuel placed a call to the governor to give him a heads up that he was taking the chief of staff’s position in the White House, and to advise him that he would be resigning his seat in the House of Representatives.

“They spoke about Mr. Emanuel’s House seat, when he would be resigning and potential candidates to replace him. He also had a brief discussion with the governor about the Senate seat and the merits of various people whom the governor might consider. Mr. Emanuel and the governor did not discuss a Cabinet position, 501c(4), a private sector position for the governor or any other personal benefit for the governor.”

Once or twice? Quite a hard hitting investigation there, huh?

Barack Obama is not even sworn in yet, and these are already lying to America.

A little Holiday advice from me to you

I got this in an email and it is worth posting:

Please Print out and carry with you in case you forget what to do.

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare.. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. if something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. as for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple,Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Have a great holiday season

No more excuses! I demand global warming NOW!

Last week:

Tuesday and Wednesday - 6 to 8 inches of snow depending where in Kenosha county you live

Thursday and Friday - 14 to 18 inches of snow depending where in Kenosha county you live

Saturday - 4 to 5 inches of snow. Overnight temperature plummets.

Sunday-Temp -7 with wind chills in at -40. Mountains of drifting snow.. I have seen some drifts as high as three feet in the roads.

Monday- the temp warmed up to -1 with wind chills at only -15. Still mountains of drifting snow.

Today- We have about 3 inches on the ground right now with another 3 to 5 inches coming.

Tomorrow- apparently it is supposed to start sleeting with severe ice conditions on the roads.

I have had enough. Someone call Al Gore! No more excuses! I demand global warming right now!

Just say no to bailouts

As most of you are aware, a few weeks ago I supported bailing out the auto industry.

Even though every instinct in me told me that this bailout was a bad idea, I stood in support of the people that live in my district and those living in Kenosha, including former and current Chrysler employees.

As much as I hated it, I knew how upsetting the effect of the auto industries collapse was having on my friends and neighbors.

Well, I should have followed my instincts instead of supporting the auto industry bailout.

As bad as things are in the industry, I did not think it was possible to make the situation worse. Since the auto industry has pretty much hit rock bottom, how much further can it go?

Not shockingly, it fell even further.

I was supportive of the bailout when Congress was involved. There was a real attempt to at least begin to solve some of the problems that have lead to the demise of the American auto industry. The money was coming from a bill that was passed in 2007 for $25 billion already appropriated that Congress had finally decided to remove the stipulations from. Yes, it

Then, the union stepped in.

Now I know that I will once again get ripped by the Local Union Paper for speaking out, but so what.

The biggest frustration with the union’s rejection of the congressionally sponsored bailout is the unions forgot who they were negotiating with.

Normally the union is negotiating with the corporations, but not this time.

They were not negotiating with the Republicans, as some claimed they were.

They were not negotiating with government officials.

What the UAW failed to realize is that they were negotiating with the American people.

Instead of siding with the American people, the UAW worked against us. Instead of siding with the American people, who are not real happy about doing this anyway, they sided with the environmentalists.

Their unwillingness to concede to a program that would begin to bring about a program towards financial stability was highly frustrating to many Americans, me included.

Of course the UAW did not want to have anyone take a pay cut, but would they rather the companies fail altogether?

Perhaps they knew that Bush would bail them out anyway.

The only problem is that the bailout is very temporary. There is only enough money to get the automakers through until April, maybe May.

We will be doing this all over again. Only now, we have just blown $17 billion and absolutely none of the critical issues that needed to be dealt with have been addressed.

The Big 3 are no more stable today than they were a few days ago. Only now, $17 Billion of American taxpayer’s dollars has been spent and absolutely no solutions for critical problems have been advanced.

We solved nothing and it cost us $17 billion.

I spoke to a couple of retired UAW workers this week living off of their pensions. I asked them what they thought. There are no more comfortable today than they were last week. They know that no problems were solved in this fiasco.

They know this is only temporary and they are aware of the issues moving forward. One of them was looking to a President Obama to fix their problem. The other one is convinced that a President Obama could care less about American auto workers or he would have involved himself in the process by now. I cannot tell you what Obama plans on doing.

Well, that is the end for me. Clearly, instead of taking the responsibility of fixing the problems that these companies are having, they are looking for a handout.

The entire system has become so secretive, we have no clue what the terms of the deals that are being made, and clearly no one plans on telling us. We will be kept totally in the dark, only they will spend billions of dollars and they answer to no one.

No one is holding anyone accountable for any of these messes we are in.

Eve though we were days away from the collapse of GM, the American people still did not support bailing out the auto industry.

I am tired of hearing excuses from irresponsible companies, unions and government officials.

No more auto bailouts, no more bank bailout, no more bailouts of mortgage companies, no bailouts of individual states.

It is time to be grown ups and take responsibility for our own actions. At the rate the government is going, we will have ripped through the $700 billion by April and will be back asking for billions more in a few short months.

We are Americans; we will figure a way through this. We have gotten through these types of problems before, we will have to muddle through again.

I believe the American people have an incredible spirit and incredible drive and will get through this. I also believe that the American auto industry and the American unions will survive this.

Conservative of the Year: Sarah Palin

Human events has named Sarah Palin as their conservative of the year. After placing second to Barack Obama's Time Person of the Year, Sarah wins the award that many of us on the right side of the ailse consider to be a "no brainer".

Of course she is the Conservative of the Year, who else would they name??? John McCain? Oh please!

From Sarah's interview:

GIZZI: For my birthday this year, friends gave me the new biography of Andrew Jackson [American Lion, by Jon Meacham]. One of the passages that reminded me of you is when the author is explaining how vilified Jackson was and says, ‘He was the first President to come from the common people, not from an educated elite, and he never ceased to see himself as their champion.’ Is that something you can identify with and do you think the fact you had a similar background to Jackson’s was a reason for some of the criticism you received from some of the punditocracy and the media in general?

PALIN: Maybe initially it is a hindrance for someone starting out. But once the electorate knows what that candidate’s convictions are and positions are, I don’t think that matters. You just prefaced your question with the fact that I didn’t come from that ‘stock’. I got my education from the University of Idaho because that’s what I could afford. It was the least-expensive school that offered the programs I knew would benefit me in my future. My Dad was a school teacher and had four kids in college at about the same time. It didn’t occur to me to ask my parents to pay for my college education. We all worked through school and paid for schools that we could afford. I still got a great education. No, I don’t come from the self-proclaimed ‘movers and shakers’ group and that’s fine with me. It’s caused me, or rather, allowed me, to work harder and pulled myself up by my bootstraps without anyone else helping me. I think it allows me to be in touch with the vast majority of Americans who are in the same position that I am. That is desiring government to be on our side and not against us. And that means, in a lot of ways, for government to get out of the way to allow our families and our businesses to keep more of what they produce, to meet our own priorities.

I love this point made by Ann Coulter. I got to admit, it took Sarah Palin coming along for a conservative woman to get the liberals heads spinning so fast they were ready to pop off.

Sarah Palin wins HUMAN EVENTS’ prestigious “Conservative of the Year” Award for 2008 for her genius at annoying all the right people. The last woman to get liberals this hot under the collar would have been … let's see now … oh, yeah: Me!

Who is lying?

Either the liars are in the Obama camp or in the media.

Which is it?

First- The Obama team is stating that Rahm Emanuel never directly spoke with Blago about Obama's senate seat. We also have the Chicago Sun Times stating that he did talk directly to the Governor:

  • President-elect Barack Obama's incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had a deeper involvement in pressing for a U.S. Senate seat appointment than previously reported, the Sun-Times has learned. Emanuel had direct discussions about the seat with Gov. Blagojevich, who is is accused of trying to auction it to the highest bidder.
Emanuel talked with the governor in the days following the Nov. 4 election and pressed early on for the appointment of Valerie Jarrett to the post, sources with knowledge of the conversations told the Sun-Times. There was no indication from sources that Emanuel brokered a deal, however.
A source with the Obama camp strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, saying Emanuel only spoke with Blagojevich once recently to say he was taking the chief of staff post.
But sources with knowledge of the investigation said Blagojevich told his aides about the calls with Emanuel and sometimes gave them directions afterward. Sources said that early on, Emanuel pushed for the appointment of Jarrett to the governor and his staff and asked that it be done by a certain date.
At least some of the conversations between Emanuel and Blagojevich were likely caught on tape, sources said.

We have unnamed sources on both side of this issue making seperate claims.

Chrysler closes for a month

This is not good. Even as bad as it is, pray it does not get worse.

What happens if they decide not to re-open the plant after keeping it closed for a month?

All of Chrysler’s manufacturing plants, including the Kenosha Engine Plant,
will shut down operations for a few weeks after Friday.

Chrysler announced Wednesday afternoon that it would halt production at
all 30 of its plants at the end of the day Friday until Jan. 19 due to the lack
of consumer credit for prospective American car buyers.

Some Kenosha workers could return earlier, according to Glenn Stark,
president for United Auto Workers Local 72.

3 hours and 40 minutes

That is how long it took to get home from work tonight.

I only live 50 miles from work.

Roads are dangerous. My guess is that we probably only got 3 inches of snow before I left work. From the looks of things, not a snow plow in sight.

In fact, I am not even sure I saw one the entire ride home.

I admit, I probabaly could have been home a few minutes sooner, but I had to go to the bathroom. I stopped at the toll plaza because my windshield wipers had frozen blocks of ice on them, so I cleaned them off. I stepped inside and asked if I could use the bathroom. Nope! For employees only.

I spend over $600 a year paying tolls and they won't let me use the bathroom!

Obama team clears themselves of any wrongdoing

After completing what I am sure is a complete and thourough investigation, the Obama team has decided that the Obama team has done nothing inappropriate when it comes to the Blago mess.

An internal review shows aides to President-elect Barack Obama had no
"inappropriate discussions" with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich or his staff
concerning the search for a Senate replacement from Illinois, a spokesman for
the presidential transition office said Monday.

Whew! That's a relief, huh? For a second there, I thought they might actually find themselves guilty of something.

However, event though the Obama team has cleared itself of any wrongdoing, they do not plan on releasing the results of that investigation until next week.

Huh? Imagine that!

(Yes, people, this is called sarcasm)

More "Change you can Subpoena!"

Wow- this is getting kind of fun.

It appears that now, a Grand Jury is looking into Bill Richardson. Richardson was just tapped to be Barack Obama's Secretary of Commerce.

A federal grand jury is investigating how a company that advised Jefferson
County, Alabama, on bond deals that threaten to cause the biggest municipal
bankruptcy in U.S. history, did similar work in New Mexico after making
contributions to Governor Bill Richardson’s political action committees.

The grand jury in Albuquerque is looking into Beverly Hills, California-based CDR Financial Products Inc., which received almost $1.5 million in fees from the New Mexico Finance Authority in 2004 after donating $100,000 to Richardson’s efforts to register Hispanic and American Indian voters and pay for expenses at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, people familiar with the matter said.

I am sure it is all a big mistake.

Change you can subpoena!

No wonder the Barack Obama team has been so silent on the wheeling and dealings with Blagojevich. One of their own, Rahm Emanuel has actually been caught on tape in the wheeling and dealing. It may be totally innocent. (As if anything done in politics is totally innocent)

My guess is someone from Obama’s team will have to pay a visit to the federal prosecutor’s office.

Hey this was the kind of change you were expecting right?

Change you can subpoena!

I'm done with John McCain

I normally don't stay up late enough to watch Late Night with David Letterman, but I happened to catch a little of it Thursday night, when Sen. John McCain was on. David Letterman make a rude joke about Gov. Sarah Palin, and John McCain laughed at it. That is when I realized I am done with John McCain.

The next morning I took my McCain/Palin bumper sticker off my car. I was keeping it on as a protest to Obama's socialism. I don't want to be associated with McCain anymore. I'm getting this bumper sticker to replace my McCain Palin one. (I'm saying the S.O.S. stands for Stop Obama's Socialism.)If I were Rod Blago, I'd use some nice four-letter words to describe how I feel about Sen. McCain, but I'm not, so I won't.

Sen. McCain was not my first pick for the GOP candidate for President. Or my second. Or my third. I remember at the February Pints and Politics, the day after McCain won the party nomination, everyone, including myself, was pissed. How could a RINO, who's been sticking it to conservative Republicans for eight years, get the nomination?

Months passed, and I slowly grew to accept Sen. McCain as the nominee. Obviously, he was better than the opposition. I wasn't happy he was the nominee, and I also wasn't excited to help him get elected.

Then, come August, he picked Gov. Sarah Palin as his running-mate. I was pumped! The Republican party had a proven conservative reformer on the ticket. The turnaround in the excitement in campaign was impossible to describe. Sarah Palin was the reason John McCain got 48% of the vote. If she hadn't been on the ticket, he probably would have gotten 35%.

After the election, when the attack dogs came out from the McCain campaign after Gov. Palin, Sen. McCain said nothing.

To see Sen. McCain laughing with David Letterman at Gov. Palin's expense is inexcusable.

I'm glad Sen. McCain didn't win the election. This way, I don't have to defend him anymore. If he were president, and he screwed up, or did something that was moderate, Republicans would have gotten the blame.

I'm washing my hands of Sen. McCain.

I'm tired of defending RINOs.

I'm not doing it anymore, and I know many in the Republican party are tired of it, too. (And this goes for ALL levels of elected officials.)

Nice dodge there, Mr. President

Some Iraqi goofball winged his shoes at President Bush today and missed. Well, Bush dodged them at least. Still got some cat like reflexes left in him.

Clearly the other guy did not even budge.

I guess it is all of the practice the President has had dodging the metaphorical shoes tossed at him by the Democrats. Most of those shoes missed too.

Until this year, when Obama managed to convince America that John McCain was actually George Bush, then George Bush was finally defeated.

It is going to be a long four years for the Obama team

Do you think this Blago scandal is the only pending scandal that Barack Obama's team will have to deal with?

Do you really think there are no more pending scandals waiting in the wings?

Probably not.

This is the tip of the iceberg.

The basics belief is that absolutely no one, not even the media proclaimed messiah crawls out of the dirty dank slimy cesspool of Chicago politics untouched.

I don't care how gifted a speaker or how brilliant you are goes from being one of many community organizers in Chicago to President of the United States in a little over 10 years without greasing a few palms, scratching a few backs and paying your dues.

Actually, I take that back, kind of...

You can run as a anti establishment type of candidate and have the backing of the people running against the good ole boys club, but that does not happen in Chicago. It just does not happen that way. The dark political underworld in Chicago is just too powerful.

The gotcha game has just begun for Barack Obama and he is not even sworn in yet.

The idea that Barack Obama managed to climb the political ladder so fast in seedy Chicago without paying his dues and not getting caught up in all of the bile is only swirling around the minds of the main stream media.

Barack Obama has paid his dues, the question is to whom has he paid those dues.

The media's failure to even scratch the surface of Barack Obama's backdealings has created a very long road ahead for America.

It is not just a long road ahead for Blagojevich and Barack Obama, it is a long road ahead for America.

If the media actually does it's job, which is questionable, over the next several weeks, months and years we will find out more about who and what made Barack Obama President of the United States. I am thinking that most Americans will not like what they see.

Do you really believe that Barack Obama's association with Reverend Jeremiah Wright was because of the good reverend's love for Jesus?

No, Reverend Wright is very powerfully connected in Chicago. Millions of taxpayer dollars are filtered into his church and throughout his community.

Do you really believe that Barack Obama's association with Bill Ayers was just a neighborly relationship?

No, William Ayers is another powerful politically connected stooge in the educational underworld in Chicago.

I know, I know. Education is all about the kids. Except when it isn't about the kids but the wheelings and dealings of powerful politicians and the people that put them in power.

Do you really believe that Barack Obama's association with convicted felon Tony Rezko was just some guy who bought some property next door to him?

No, Tony Rezko was a big financier of Barack Obama's political campaigns. Not only that, but Barack Obama and many additional Chicago politicians steered millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars into Rezko's pockets.

That is not all.

What is up with Barack Obama's relationship with Governor Rod Blagojevich?

How about Barack Obama's alignment with Chicago's Daley family? The powerful Daley's endorsed Obama even though one of the mayor's brothers worked for the Clinton machine. In return, Mayor Daley received Obama's unequivocal support for re-election. This endorsement took place even after many of Daley's top henchmen were run off to prison.

How about David Axelrod, Obama's most trusted political machinist? Axelrod is not just some two bit player that got lucky and happened to champion a extremely inexperienced Obama through the political system to the Presidency.

How about Rahm Emanuel, another powerful Chicago politician?

How about Obama's relationships with the unions, especially the SEIU, and their powerful political players in Chicago and the United States?

How about Luis Gutierrez and his $200,000 loan scandal in Chicago?

How about Emil "Godfather" Jones, state senate Democrat leader? Obama stated to Jones "You have the power to elect a US Senator"

The horrifying list just goes on and on and on.

All of these guys are part of the Chicago Democratic party machinists that have controlled Chicago for close to 75 years.

There is a Chicago Democrat machine and they managed to get one of their guys, Barack Obama, elected President of the United States.

These players are not a joke and we need to stop pretending that it is no big deal and that none of this touches Barack Obama.

They are all one in the same.

Yes, Barack Obama has paid his dues to the power brokers in Chicago and now throughout the rest of America.

The media got the president they wanted by hiding all of this stuff from the eyes of everyday Americans.

This is going to be a long four years for America. The question becomes whether or not America will like what it sees when as the underbelly of Chicago politics is exposed.

Blago is not ready or willing to disappear quietly, so all of this should be very interesting.

Mysteriously, the Rat sign disappears from Blago's alley

Mysteriously, the rat sign disappears from Blago's alley

A friend of mine had pointed out that there was a rat sign, which most Chicagons recognize, from the footage seen on TV of Blago entering or exiting his home.

Now, that darn rat sign has disappeared, but the actual political rat still lives in the home.

The photo showed Blagojevich next to a city sign that said, "Warning" and
"Target Rats" with a picture of a rat inside a red bulls-eye.

The delicious irony of an alleged political rat being photographed next to the warning sign about actual rats was apparently not lost on the governor, his family or staff.

Anyway, someone got a picture and it is pretty priceless:

Obama's Chief of Staff spoke with Governor about senate seat

See the news report here

It appears from the report that Rahm Emanuel is the Obama staffer that was communicating with Blago.

The question is- why in the world is the Obama team even concerning themselves with who will replace Obama? You would figure they have plenty of other things to do.

I know that Obama was denying that he or anyone on his staff had anything to do with selling a senate.

Still, Obama's staff was clearly involved in the process of filling Obama's seat and they even had a favorite pick in Valerie Jarrett.

Obama's closest adviser clearly was involving himself with the process of replacing Obama.

Emanuel was uncharacteristically absent from Obama’s news conference this
morning. He was spotted two hours later in the lobby of Chicago’s City Hall. He
was there to listen to his two children performing in a concert with their
school, Anshe Emet.

Well, it appears that Obama past associations are finally catching up with him. But hey, it is too late.

If the media had done their jobs in the first place, we would not be here today.

Anybody seen Joe Biden?

Why should it be a surprise?

After a serious of idiot verbal gaffes came out of Joe Biden's mouth during the election, Biden was ferried off to some corner and placed there until after the election.

Since the election, we have seen even less of gaffe master Joe Biden.

Good news, Joe Biden has been spotted.

So what is the big news coming from Joe Biden?

He is getting a puppy and he is doing it before the Obama's!

Lesson learned: Auto bailout version

I was planning on doing this lesson that I had learned this year as the last one. After the Auto bailout and watching the loathing reaction of some folks, I decided to switch it to today.

The absolute most important priority for any elected officials is the people. I know it may sound silly to point that out, but it seems to be the first thing that many folks seem to forget.

Talk show hosts don’t answer to constituents.

Newspaper editors don’t answer to constituents.

Bloggers do not answer to constituents.

However, elected officials do answer to the people.

For example, on this auto bailout, does Congressman Paul Ryan support the “real conservative” agenda, or should his support be for the people that live in his district?

Sure, I have seen the beating that the congressman is taking over his support of the auto bailout. Bloggers who are actually making the claim that Paul Ryan has disgraced himself.

I am certain that the talk show hosts, including the local ones, will be tearing apart Congressman Ryan today. So be it.

The reality of the situation is that the auto bailout is not about gigantic car companies, gigantic unions and even big government.

There are real people’s lives at stake here. Real people American people, who are frightened, angry and panicked about their future lives. These people are frightened and they do not know how they are going to feed their families, keep a roof over their heads and even pay for heat for the winter.

As a little peon aldermen in a city of almost 100,000, I represent about 6,000 people. Of those 6,000, my guess is about 1,500 of them are directly or indirectly affected by the automobile industry. Many of them are retirees of Chrysler or are currently employed by the Chrysler engine plant still located in Kenosha. Some are employed or retired from the support industries for the auto industry.

My guess is that in Congressman Ryan’s district has close to 75,000 to 100,000 are directly or indirectly affected by the automobile industry. Not only is their a sizable GM plant in Janesville and a Chrysler engine plant in Kenosha, but there are support industries that will go under if the American auto makers do not survive.

What would you do if you were in Paul Ryan’s shoes? Honestly ask yourself that question.

Would you tell the 100,000 people that live in your district…

“You are on your own”.

“I believe in smaller government and less spending, so let them eat cake”.

“Hey, I believe that the US auto industry needs to collapse into bankruptcy. They will be better off in the long run.”

“Blame your union. If they had not demanded so much from the companies, you would not be in this situation”

Seriously people, would you be able to look the people in the eye that live in your district that are scared and actually say any of these things to any of them?

You probably would not. In fact, you would do whatever you could to try and help your frightened constituents.

Part of helping these people also includes reform. Without reform, the auto industry will collapse.

This money will only last for about 3 months. That is a very tiny allotment of time to try and figure out real reforms that will get the auto industry off of the taxpayer’s dime and to set the industry on a new course forward.

I am certain that Congressman Paul Ryan will spend a lot of time with both GM and Chrysler as they attempt to chart a new course for their shareholders and their employees.

The talk show hosts, the bloggers and the news editors will continue to call Paul Ryan a disgrace today, but the truth is the real disgrace would have been if the Congressman would have completely ignored the PEOPLE that live in his district. He answers to these people.

Even in my little area of Kenosha that I am privileged to represent, I have learned a many valuable lesson this year.

The lesson learned:

Never ever make a political decision, make a people decision.

Obama/Blagojevich

So exactly how well did the President elect Barack Obama and Governor Rod Blagojevich actually know each other?

One of the benefits of living in Wisconsin and working in Illinois is that I am surrounded by a ton of political gossip. It is kind of fun.

By the way, they call him Blago down in Illinois.

Clearly they are both part of the same democrat political machine in Illinois. But beyond that, how well did they know each other?

The Obama spinners are getting dizzy spinning their tall tales attempting to distance themselves from Blago.

Political Punch has a nice litany of mis-statements and re-statements of the Obama team on exactly how involved Barack Obama and Blago are with each other.

Obama has completely denied even speaking to the governor about the Senate appointment.

However, Obama's senior adviser was singing a different tune a couple of weeks ago:

Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of
names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of
them."

The Obama team has issued a statement saying Axelrod misspoke.

Obama appeared to be a top adviser for the Blago campaign in 2002 and endorsed him even after the whole Rezko mess broke free in 2006.

And, it should be pointed out, Mr. Obama has a relationship with Mr.
Blagojevich, having not only endorsed Blagojevich in 2002 and 2006, but
having served as a top adviser to the Illinois governor in his first 2002
run for the state house.

Of course, Obama's role in this was "over-stated"

According to Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., Mr. Obama's incoming White House
chief of staff, Emanuel, then-state senator Obama, a third Blagojevich aide, and
Blagojevich's campaign co-chair, David Wilhelm, were the top strategists of
Blagojevich's 2002 gubernatorial victory.

Emanuel told the New Yorker earlier this year that he and Obama
"participated in a small group that met weekly when Rod was running for
governor. We basically laid out the general election, Barack and I and these
two."

Wilhelm said that Emanuel had overstated Obama's role. "There was an
advisory council that was inclusive of Rahm and Barack but not limited to them,"
Wilhelm said, and he disputed the notion that Obama was "an architect or one of
the principal strategists."

So- did Obama talk to Blago and were those conversations recorded???

That would be interesting to find out. Also, if Obama's team was talking to Blago- did they go to the authorities once they knew that Blago was attempting to sell the seat?

In fact, there are indications that Mr. Obama and his team refused to go
along with the "pay to play" way Blagojevich is accused of operating, offering
only "gratitude" if the governor appointed his friend Valerie Jarrett to take
his U.S. Senate seat, much to the governor's chagrin.

But there remain questions about how Blagojevich knew that Mr. Obama was
not willing to give him anything in exchange for the Senate seat -- with whom
was Blagojevich speaking? Did that person report the governor to the
authorities?

Dems will "drill here" after Jan. 20th

Bush wins

For a lame duck president, he sure stuck it to the Democrats.

For weeks, the Democrats have demanded the President hand over billions of dollars worth of bailout funds to the big three auto makers. No questions asked, no accountability, no nothing, just do it. After all, the President wanted to bail out all of his rich friends on Wall Street, why not bail out the automakers too?

President Bush refused and told Congress to use the money already appropriated in 2007 for the automakers for $25 billion.

Congress relented yesterday.

All of the funds to be used are for the current $15 billion bailout is coming entirely from the $25 billion set aside in 2007 by the Congress for the automakers.

The short-term loans would be financed out of an existing $25 billion program
created to help the industry meet fuel-economy standards. Under the terms of the
bill, the loans would mature in seven years. For the first five years the
companies would pay a 5% interest rate; after that, a 9% rate would be levied,
the bill says.

Bush wins.

Not only is none of the bailout money being used, but the current funds for $15 billion are a loan and this only gets the automakers through the month of March.

Obama and the Democrats, whether they like it or not, will have to make some grownup decisions in March.

Obama will be forced to decide whether or not he should defy the American people and bail the automakers again in March. There will be no pinning this one on President Bush.

Rumor flying around Illinois- Blago arrested

Rod Blagojevich has been indicted. At least that is the rumor. For those who do not know, this involves the governor of Illinois and Tony Rezko.

Yes, the same Tony Rezko attached to Obama.

Update: it is official. The Governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich has been arrested by the federal government.

We just elected his buddy and another Illinois politician to the White House. Gives you real comfort, huh???

Snain

It’s snaining.

No, it is not snowing. No, it is not raining.

It is doing both at one time.

So what else would you call it?

You would think that snain would be relatively easy to drive on. Not so.

It is slick or slippery, depending on your preference. I guess we could call it slickery.

I guess the end result is :

Slow down folks, it is slickery out there because it is snaining.

Lesson One- Listen to the people

As the year begins to close out, I finally have a moment or two to reflect back on the interesting year I have had.

It was a tough year, but there were many great moments that also occurred. I have learned so much and grown as an individual.

Over the next couple of weeks, I plan on sharing the things I have learned over the last year.

As most of you know, a year ago, I was collecting signatures for my own run for a political office. As the Chairwoman of the Republican Party of Kenosha County, living in a liberal city that was getting more liberal by the day, I was up against a wall of liberalism.

I felt that it was important to stop standing on the sidelines complaining and decided to do something about it. I decided to run for alderman/city council/common council- whichever one you choose to call it.

I faced a primary race that included a 14 year incumbent with name recognition that at no time ever had anyone run against him. Also on the primary ballot was a well know Democrat, which in a previous race had been thrown off the ballot based on a challenge by one of our Republican candidates in a race for state assembly.

Knowing that I was up against the wall, with only about 7 weeks to make my case to the people in my democrat leaning district before the primary vote, I had to do something that set me apart from the crowd.

I made a commitment to the folks of Kenosha’s fifth district that I would listen to them before making any kind of decision.

That seems to be the biggest complaint when it comes to local politicians, nobody is listening to them.

Of course, every single time my name was mentioned in the local newspaper, they never failed to mention that I was the chair of the Republican Party of Kenosha County and running for alderman.

I certainly did not hide from my conservative credentials. In fact, I embraced it. I cannot tell you the countless doors I knocked on where someone said to me “You are that republican, right?”

Of course, I would answer in the affirmative and then quickly proceed to explain what it was I truly believed in. I believe in getting the government to butt out of your lives, low taxes, cutting frivolous spending and protecting the services that the taxpayers pay for.

Lastly, I promised to listen to them, even if we disagreed.

Obviously it worked, I was elected.

Given a chance, people are not as partisan as we are all lead to believe. That simple commitment to listen to people, was more than some people expected out of their local government.

So, I guess the first lesson I learned is that I needed to make listening to people my first priority.

That does not mean that we always have to agree, but if we do not have enough respect for each other, even with our partisan divides, then we do not deserve to live in a country where free speech and debate is encouraged.

It was exactly this lesson that I learned that had me voting for the budget. I know that some of you are quite curious as to why I would vote for it, knowing how I felt about tax increases, even minimal ones. Well, more on that tomorrow.

Obama's coattails

Lesson to be learned since the November 4th election:

Without Obama's coattails, there is no massive Democratic movement in America. To be certain, there was a Democrat movement in 2006. I am now convinced more than ever, this year's movement was an Obama movement.

Every race, holding an election after Nov. 4th, has gone to a Republican. But probably the biggest shocker took place yesterday in Louisiana. In a strong Democrat district located in the heart of New Orleans, an 18 year incumbent lost to a little known Republican.

Although Jefferson's political shortcomings were glaring -- he is awaiting trial on federal corruption charges, including bribery -- the demographics of the New Orleans-based district still appeared to make him an overwhelming favorite for re-election. Jefferson has been one of the senior African-American members of Congress, and the black-majority district typically gives Democratic candidates about three-quarters of its votes.

In another race in Louisiana, a race that Barack Obama was involved in, barely lost. Like Senator Saxby Chambliss, Republican Candidate John Fleming was up against the Barack Obama's Democrat machine. John Fleming barely pulled off a victory in a Republican leaning district.

Clearly, Obama definitely has coattails and the Democrats road them for all they are worth.

The opportunities for Republicans in 2010 is huge. Obama will have his own problems by that time. In a few short weeks, Obama will be running the country and there will be no more excuses that will be tolerated from the Democrats.

I don't care how many times the Democrats and Obama try and lower expectations and try to blame Bush, the Democrats and Barack Obama control everything and America knows it.

Now it is time to recruit GOOD republican candidates for 2010. People that actually have some values and are able to come up with some real solutions.

"A date that will live in infamy"

Americans are mostly focused on the economy right now, but every once in a while it is imperative that we remember the American heroes that have given so much to our nation.

Thank you to every American currently serving in the military, not only in Iraq and Afghanistan, but around the world.

We also thank the American men and women that have served this country in the past with dignity and honor.

Most importantly, we thank the American men and woman who fought so valiantly against insumountable odds on Dec. 7, 1941. Today we honor all of you...

FDR, Dec 8, 1941 said:

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph — so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire.”

Wisconsin's massive budget deficit

This is serious. I do not care how many different excuses Governor Doyle comes up with, there is no reason the state of Wisconsin's state deficit should be comparable to that of California and New York.

California and New York, people!!!

Arizona is expecting a budget gap in 2010 that will exceed 24 percent of
its general fund budget. Other states expecting huge budget holes include: New
York (20 percent), California (18 percent), Wisconsin (17.2 percent), Minnesota
(14.7) and Kansas (14.5 percent), according to the NCSL report.

Remember the budget battles between the governor, Republicans and Democrats.

Republicans were being lambasted by the media and by the Democrats for cutting costs for education(which they did not do), for cutting costs on healthcare (which they did not do), for cutting costs on environmental issues( which they did do). Absolutely everything the Republicans attempted to do was slammed by Jim Doyle and the Democrats.

After all, Republicans are evil and do not care about Wisconsin's children.

Do you remember those jerks last year screaming and yelling at the Americans For Prosperity conservatives who were in Madison protesting their government's horrifying spend and tax practices?

We were the evil ones as all of the state employees surrounded us and ran around the capital rotunda screaming about the evil conservatives.

California and New York???? This is what Wisconsin is now compared to.

2010 is the year to replace them all. Each and every democrat needs to be thrown out of office.

These people have stolen our future and our children's future for a couple of feel good programs that did nothing to benefit Wisconsinites.

Jim Doyle and the Democrats have thrown our money down an endless drain of worthless programs. Replace these politicians.

Where has Joe the Plumber's spirit gone?

I was reading an interesting article this morning on WJS from Daniel Henninger titled "America needs its Frontier Spirit" and it got me to thinking about Joe the Plumber.

There was a time when we, as Americans, loved to work for a living. We believed in the American dream. We knew that if we worked hard enough we would be able to carve out a tiny piece of America that would be our own. A little piece of land where you could raise a family, start a business or even farm or garden, that not even the government could take from us.

With this past election cycle, we can clearly see America is not about the American dream, it is about a bailout. Everyone, from businesses to individuals want to be bailed out.

Clearly the Joe the Plumber spirit of wanting to carve out your own destiny has taken a hit. Joe the Plumber wanting nothing more out of life than to carve out his own destiny and embrace the American dream.

This election came down to whether or not America would once again embrace it's heritage of working hard and bailing ourselves out or hand over our American dream to the government and let them bail us out.

In this election, big government Barack Obama beat Joe the Plumber and his American dream.

Americans are currently willing to hand over their dreams to Barack Obama and his cohorts on Capital Hill.

America clearly stated "Bail Me Out"! Americans decided to give up their freedom and their American dream and take the easy way out.

Yes, whether or not Americans realize it, they will have to give up many of their freedoms in order to allow the government to bail them out.

As discouraging as that might be to many of us, all hope is not lost.

I do not believe the American dream is dead. Sure, it has been quieted for a while, but we have been here before.

In the late 1970's we stood exactly where we stand right now. We had an economy that was caving. High unemployment, a discouraged military and threats coming at us from every direction.

It took us four years to learn our lesson that Jimmy Carter's big government solutions were no solution at all. Giving government power and handing over our American dreams to have them do as they wish got us nowhere.

Then one man stood up and said, not me- you cannot steal my spirit. His name was Ronald Reagan. It was once again okay to embrace the American spirit. You no longer had to be ashamed to call yourself an American.

Joe the Plumber's spirit of individuality, determination and hard work will rise again. I believe it, just like Ronald Reagan believed it.

I am not sure of who that person is that will step forward and embrace the American dream again and lead us out of this mess. But that day is coming, whether or not it is in 4 years or in 8 years.

Even though Barack Obama has not been sworn in yet, I know for a fact that we will be replacing him in a few short years. Let's replace him with a true American believer and dreamer.

In the meantime, we must fight the bailout mentality and start that fight right now.

Joe the Plumber will rise again.

Another Congressional Race up for grabs

Courtesy Red State:

There is another Congressional seat up for grabs. The seat normally goes to a Republican, but with the election on Dec. 6th when everyone has moved passed the 2008 election cycle, turnout will be key.

If you got a few bucks to send his way so he can get his message out, here is the link.

John Fleming for U.S. Congress

You gotta love this:

His fight for... Controlling Illegal Immigration, Cutting Spending, Lowering Taxes, Defeating Terrorism, Protecting Right to Life, and Traditional Values.

This is kind of cool

Check this thing out. All I have to do now is download my pictures to this Team Sarah webpage and they will post right here.

Find more photos like this on Team Sarah

I did not take all of these. I went with several friends and we have been sharing pictures. Jim, Sam, Donny, and Leah took a lot of these. I took a few also.

As I keep adding photos, this page will continue to update with the new pictures.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. There is a Santa Claus. But in this time of economic skepticism, he has decided it is not worth the time and energy to make and deliver toys this Christmas.

Santa and the elves work hard 364 days a year, but since Barack Obama and liberal Democrats believe in the redistribution of wealth, they have decided to wait for their wealth to come in the form of a check from the U.S. Government. Why should they work hard when the government has decided to distribute the toys the way they see fit?

Santa, in an effort to instill values into children, had one requirement - be "nice". Now that requirement has been removed by federal law. It is too "harsh" to expect a child to be nice to others. A recent study had shown bad behavior is not the child's fault.

Another factor affecting Santa's decision was the cost of reindeer feed. With ethanol mandates requiring feed corn be used for fuel, he can no longer afford to feed Rudolph and his friends. With his alternative use for transportation unaffordable, Santa will be staying home.

Santa's decision was also influenced by the cancellation of Christmas. The liberal-left, in their quest to please the minority of citizens, has deemed Christmas “offensive.” Christmas has been canceled, along with "under God" being removed from the Pledge, "In God We Trust" being removed from all currency, and the "Ten Commandments" being removed from all public places.

So you see, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, but because of Barack Obama and liberal democrats, he no longer celebrates Christmas.

No more BO

There will be no more BO at the Washington Capital visitor center. No, I am not talking that BO, I am talking about body odor.

See Harry Reid:

The Capitol Visitors Center, which opened this morning, may have tripled
its original budget and fallen years behind schedule, but Senate Majority Leader
Harry Reid found a silver lining for members of Congress: tourists won't offend
them with their B.O. anymore.

"My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said
Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you
could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be
descriptive but it's true.

"But it's no longer going to be true, noted Reid, thanks to the air
conditioned, indoor space. And that's not all.

"We have many bathrooms here, as you can see," Reid continued. "Souvenirs
are available."

$621 million well spent.

Who is going to bail us out as our government continues to spend $621 million on a visitor's center?

By the way, check out some of the comments. Oh boy, I am not the only one upset over this:

"God forbid he smell the common folk. Best to keep them away from the
ruling class."

"I believe what congress was smelling is the BS that they put so much of out!"

"Obviously, everybody smells in congress since their approval ratings are at 9
percent. Take a shower Dirty Harry."

Republican Kids

Sure, when Obama supporters are questioned about basic Obama policies and basic government, they make total fools out of themselves.

See this video...

When a 9 year old Republican girl at a Sarah Palin/Saxby Chambliss event is asked for specifics on why she supported Governor Palin, the 9 year old knew what she was talking about. See link

Another woman, Nicole Barnes, brought her daughter Kate Monahan, 9, a third-grader at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic School.

"I think this was a great educational opportunity for her to be here at such a critical time in such an important election," Ms. Barnes said.

Kate also voiced support for Mrs. Palin, adding, "I think her policies are good."

When the 9-year-old was asked for specifics, she said she supported domestic drilling and lower taxes.

You tell 'em kiddo!
