Let's not forget about the men and woman who have sacrified so my much for our country this weekend.
Here is a listing of several memorial services located locally being held for our milatary members, veterans and to all those who have given their lives in service of this country.
The following events will be held on May 25, 2009:
COUNTY
9:00 A.M. American Legion Post 293 will hold a parade through Silver Lake, with a program to follow at Legion Hall, 307 Cogswell Drive.
9:30 A.M. American Legion Post 544 will have a cemetery program at Mount Prairie Cemetery followed at 10:00 AM by a program at St. John’s Cemetery in Twin Lakes.
11:00 A.M. American Legion Post 544 will hold a parade through Twin Lakes followed by a ceremony at Legion Hall, 989 Legion Drive.
CITY
9:00 A.M. Navy Club Ship 40 will present their annual harbor side program at Navy Park, 52nd Street and 6th Avenue.
10:00 A.M. American Legion Post 21 will hold their Memorial Day ceremony at the veterans’ area of Greenridge Cemetery, 6600 and 7th Avenue.
11:00 A.M. American Legion Post 552 will hold their Memorial Day service at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, 6211 – 38th Street
11:15 A.M. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7308 will host their annual program at St. Marks Cemetery, 9th Court and 78th Street.
SUNDAY MAY 24, 2009
11:00 A.M. The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs will hold their Memorial Day program at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
