Assembly Democrats Break Pledge

From the Wisconsin State Journal:

The State Journal credited Democrats who run the state Assembly in February for banning fundraising during the state budget process.

Well, so much for that.

Assembly Democrats are about to break their pledge by holding a major fundraiser at Wild Rock Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells on June 15. Fat-cat and special-interest donors will pay up to $1,000 each to golf with Speaker Mike Sheridan, D-Janesville, and Co. just as state leaders are putting the finishing touches on the $63 billion state budget.

A Sheridan aide claims the event doesn’t violate the Assembly’s fundraising ban because Sheridan will be raising campaign cash for the Assembly Democratic Campaign Committee, rather than individual members.

But that’s hooey.

Read the entire piece here.

If it weren't for double standards, Democrats would have none.
