Mongrel people?

Oh my! Can you imagine if Rush Limbaugh said this about African Americans?

"We are sort of a mongrel people."

Instead, our President said this about African Americans.

Typical media reaction. They defend the President:

The president did not appear to be making an inflammatory remark with his statement. The definition of mongrel as an adjective is defined as "of mixed breed, nature, or origin," according to dictionary.com.

Of course, the media did not bother to give the entire dictionary.com definition:

of mixed breed, nature, or origin; of or like a mongrel.

Like a mongrel?

Let's define mongrel, shall we?

Princeton

bastard: derogatory term for a variation that is not genuine; something irregular or inferior or of dubious origin; "the architecture was a kind of bastard suggesting Gothic but not true Gothic"

Answers.com

An animal or a plant resulting from various interbreedings, especially a dog of mixed or undetermined breed.

Just imagine if a conservative had said the same thing. Michael Steele?

Take that!

The Obama administration tells us that whether we want it or not, whether we need it or not, whether we can afford it or not... Wisconsin is getting high speed rail!

Well, why not? This is not the first thing rammed down our throats by the Obama and Doyle administrations.(see ObamaCare)

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Gov. Jim Doyle on Thursday portrayed a planned Milwaukee-to-Madison high-speed rail line as an unstoppable train that Republican gubernatorial candidates can't derail.

"High-speed rail is coming to Wisconsin," LaHood said. "There's no stopping it."

Oh really???

Hmmm!

BTW... Isn't Mayor Barrett just Governor Doyle Jr. with hair?

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the leading Democrat in the governor's race, backs high-speed rail.

Good grief, Mayor Barrett, grow a spine and stand on your own two feet!

Is this guy serious?

Tax increases????!

This is how Paul Ryan's opponent, John Heckenlively, plans to win this election?

Janesville Gazette

Dealing with the debt and budget deficit will most likely mean tax increases, Heckenlively said.

Running a campaign with the promise of tax increases. Not the normal approach, but hey, whatever.

Congressman Paul Ryan, President?

Great article about Congressman Paul Ryan. This article really gives some personal insight into the issues and events that shaped the Congressman into the man we know and love today.

Sample snips:

And yet there is Paul Ryan, on a CNBC panel out-nerding all the high-paid TV financial analysts. And there is Paul Ryan on the Sunday network talk shows explaining how America is in the midst of a slow-motion federal entitlement catastrophe. And there is Paul Ryan dismantling the health care bill at President Obama’s sham “summit,” while the president glares at him as if Ryan just told the Obama kids there’s no tooth fairy.

So when cameras turned to Ryan, he began systematically dismantling the Democrats’ rosy cost estimates. He pointed out that much of the cost was hidden, as it raised taxes for ten years to pay for six years’ worth of spending. He exposed the fact that the $371 billion “doc fix” (a plan to reimburse doctors more through Medicare) had been separated from the bill and considered as standalone legislation to keep the price tag down. “Hiding spending does not reduce spending,” he said.

As Ryan spoke, the cameras would occasionally make their way back to President Obama, who was glaring icily at Ryan.

Mr. President...You lie!

Mr. President, you said that the insurance mandate demanding Americans buy insurance was not a tax.

In fact, Mr. President, you had this to say exactly:

When Mr. Stephanopoulos said the penalty appeared to fit the dictionary definition of a tax, Mr. Obama replied, “I absolutely reject that notion.”

Now that ObamaCare is being challenged in court, suddenly the insurance mandate is a tax.

When the NYT is reacting and calling the President out on this, you know that the liberals have a problem.

The Weekly Standard/Congressman Paul Ryan

Nice article from Fred Barnes at the Weekly Standard on Congressman Ryan's roadmap for America:

For Republicans, the Road Map authored by congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is the most important proposal in domestic policy since Ronald Reagan embraced supply side economics in the 1980 presidential campaign. It’s not only the freshest, boldest, and most comprehensive Republican thinking, it’s also the most relevant. If Republicans adopt the Road Map as their basic ideological blueprint, it offers them the prospect of a landslide in the midterm election this year, followed by victory in the presidential election in 2012.

More polling numbers on Governor's race

According to PPP, Scott Walker's popularity has gone up as Tom Barrett's has gone down:

Walker 45%
Barrett 38%

Recent advertising in the race has had a clear impact on voter perceptions of the candidates, with Walker seeing an increase in his favorability while Barrett's negatives have climbed. When we polled the state in March 31% of voters had a favorable opinion of Walker while 27% viewed him unfavorably. His positive number has increased five points to 36% since then while his negative has gone up only a point to 28% for a +8 overall spread. Barrett's numbers have gone in the other direction. The number of voters seeing him in a positive light is basically unchanged, going from 29% to 28%. But his negatives have risen eight points from 22% to 30%, and his favorability is now a -2 spread.

Lt. Governor Candidates races

Just in case you have missed it. Lt. Gov. candidate Ben Collins has suspended his campaign for Lt. Gov.

Also, candidate for Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch has turned in her signatures to get her name on the ballot. First candidate to get this done early.

All hail King Obama

Whew. That was close, President Obama's federal government decided the fine folks at Bucyrus get to keep their jobs anyway.

Attention Walker campaign: You are not supposed to do that!

In the world of politics, politicians and their campaigns are supposed to be slimy and unethical, not truthful.

It seems the Walker campaign has been just a little too honest when it comes to politics these days.

Instead of lying, covering up, hiding, or spinning the truth, the Walker campaign chose to turn themselves and their campaign into the Government Accountability Board.

It appears that some knothead decided that he would illegally donate to the Walker campaign and dragged a few of his friends into donating to the Walker campaign also.

As soon as the Walker campaign found out about it, they took the unusual step of turning themselves in:

Keith Gilkes, Walker's campaign manager, said one of Gardner's attorneys alerted the campaign Tuesday about the reimbursements and informed Walker's staff that Gardner would report himself to state regulators.

Walker's campaign separately alerted the board to the situation and reimbursed Gardner and seven other railroad company employees a combined $43,800.

Walker's campaign alerted the GAB??? You are not supposed to do that! In our political slimy world; campaigns normally hide these transgressions!

Speaking of political slimy world, what is up with returning the illegal campaign donations????

As we have learned from our illustrious governor, "Diamond" Jim Doyle, there is no need to return illegal campaign contributions.

Once again, Walker campaign... You are not supposed to do that!

The situation prompted Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker to return $43,800 in donations on Wednesday.

Attention Walker campaign: You are really really not supposed to do this!

Gilkes disclosed the matter to the Journal Sentinel, saying the campaign wanted to be forthright about what happened.

What?!!!! The Walker campaign contacted the media and told them about this and gave them the headline????!!! Holy cow!

Here in Wisconsin we have become used to slimy unethical politicians, giving all politicians a bad name. Now this?

Careful now Scott Walker....You are right on the verge of giving politicians a good name with your honesty and integrity!

Scott Walker on Arizona Immigration Law

Friends of Scott Walker – Post Office Box 100828 – Wauwatosa, WI 53210
Paid for by Friends of Scott Walker, John Hiller, Treasurer

Below please find a statement by Scott Walker provided by the campaign:
“I sympathize with the people of Arizona who are victimized by violence, crime and property damage as a result of illegal immigration. After speaking this morning with the sponsor of the new law in Arizona, State Senator Russell Pearce, I’m satisfied that the amended bill provides adequate protections against racial profiling and discrimination. A police officer may only inquire about the immigration status of persons they have stopped, detained, or arrested for other
reasons.

In addition, earlier decisions by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals satisfy my concern about any conflicts with the 10th Amendment. If I were Governor of Arizona, I too would sign the Arizona immigration bill.

As Governor of Wisconsin, I will sign legislation that strengthens our protection against illegal immigration and ensures that taxpayer funded benefits like Badger Care and drivers licenses are not available to those who are here illegally.”
