If I had to vote on the bailout/rescue plan currently being proposed, I would do it.
It is not fair, it is not right, but I still would do it.
This is a tough one.
The American people do not want this.
Still, tens of thousands will lose jobs. Millions more Americans will struggle just to keep their heads above water.
Doing nothing is not an option.
Not bailing out the credit markets is not an option.
Worse yet, our leaders have not explained very well the affects on all of America if this does not pass.
To add insult to injury, the real cause of this failure has yet to be discussed in the public domain.
Sure, Barack Obama and his liberal cronies are screaming at John McCain and the Republicans for this failure. But is that the truth? Is it the fault of John McCain and the Republicans for this credit mess?
Of course it is not the fault of John McCain and the Republicans, although they did not do much to stop it.
In the 1990’s, Bill Clinton mandated giving bad loans to people with bad credit. For years, many took advantage of this even as Democrats and Republican regally claimed “the highest home ownership in history”.
Everyone for the last 12 years that stuck their hands out for a home loan, pretty much got one.
Credit history?
Who cares- give them the money.
Worse yet- anyone raising alarm bells that this was a problem in the last 12 years was shot down. These people challenging the wisdom of the low income or high-risk loans were immediately labeled as racist or “against poor people”.
How many times did you hear “Those rich Republicans do not care working class people!”?
The politicians can act innocent in all of this, but the real truth is they futzed with the free market and mandated giving out the bad loans.
When it came time to pay the piper, the politicians all claim innocence.
I could go on, but there will be a time for every single politician, like Barney Frank and Barack Obama will have to face the music.
Who knows? Barack Obama may actually be president at the time he forced to explain his involvement with this credit crisis.
Currently, Tony Rezko is cooperating with the government to save his own skin. Should be interesting to find out how and where he got the millions of dollars in tax dollars and millions more in low interest loans. The money and the loans was supposed to go to help those in need. Instead, Rezko lined the pockets of the politicians giving him those millions, like Obama and Blagojevich.
The idea that Obama is not somehow connected to this mess is laughable, even as they accuse Blagojevich being connected.
Does that mean Democrats are solely responsible?
No, of course not.
Somewhere in the midst of all of this- each and every American will have to face a few hard facts.
We, as Americans, have stopped working for what we want out of life. Instead of spending 5 years working and saving for a new car, we borrow the money. Want a boat? Just borrow the money.
There was a time in our history that we were patient and were willing to work hard for what we wanted. Now, we believe that we are owed the extras in life and we will borrow the money to get it.
We are a credit card society and we are shocked that our credit has dried up.
It was bound to happen sooner or later.
We can blame Democrats, we can blame Republicans, we can blame Wall Street, but Main Street has also got to take some blame for this too.

Americans don't like it
Americans do not like it, but I believe that many see that it is a necessary evil. Bailing the Washington and Wall Street fat cats out of a greedy mess that they created, is not what Americans want to be doing.
In fact right in the middle of the mess this week, Rasmussen ran a poll asking Americans if the government should bail out failing financial companies. Only 7% of Americans believe that we should.
Yet, I believe that most Americans understand that we have no choice but to support another bailout plan. That does not mean we have to like it.
Still, even with this latest bailout, the Washington fat cats insist on adding to the burden of everyday Americans by adding a few bonus checks to the pile of money we are already giving away.
Rumor has it that there are some Democrats trying to use this bailout to not only stabilize the markets but also they want to add a couple more of their pet projects to the deal.
Loading this rescue plan up with tons of pork for the Roadbuilders and such is absolutely the wrong direction to go.
It is bad enough that we have to do this, but then having these liberals shake us down for even more money for pet projects is beyond ludicrous.
No Democrat or Republican should be allowed to add any useless garbage to this bailout bill.
Get it done and let's move on.
By the way, wasn't Barack Obama part of the crowd of liberal democrats attempting to add an economic stimulus package to this plan???
Why, yes he is...
And this man wants to be president???? Even Nancy Pelosi is having fight off liberal Obama and his free money cohorts in Congress.
This should be a bipartisan effort that both sides agree on, but I have a feeling that is not the direction we are heading.
PS. Everyone does realize that there is no such thing as a government bailout, right? Government has no money. You have money and they will take it and give it the the greedy fat cats to bail them out.
I have had it with the government elitist that keep stealing out money, promising to be responsible with it and then proceed to rip us off.

Social spending and infrastructure funds. The most liberal Democrats are pushing to have an economic stimulus package — with unemployment extensions, infrastructure spending and aid to states — tacked on to the bill. But Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is trying to get her caucus to hold off, fearing it could delay the critical Treasury package, according to Democratic aides.

Barack Obama today endorsed moves in Washington to give the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve broad authority to stabilize the credit markets, but said those actions should be accompanied by a second stimulus package aimed at relieving burdens on families affected by the current economic slump.
