How can the media get away with such spin?

The overall economy lost 131,000 jobs in July, but you would not know that based on how the media is choosing to portray the economic numbers.

Headline after headline is portraying the economy as gaining 71,000 private sector jobs. For example, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is portraying this headline:

Private employers added 71,000 jobs in July; unemployment rate unchanged at 9.5 percent

The reality is the economy lost 131,000. There was no overall job growth whatsoever.

I understand that the media is carrying President Obama's and the Democrats' water for them.

But seriously, do they really think they are fooling anybody with half a brain?
